Hmmm, so you weren't straining your ears listening to the guitar solos then no?

Bruce' cover of "Because the Night" (Patti Smith?) was a highlight for me, but I can't find it on YouTube, so we have to make do with "The River":

I thought that Bruce's voice was going during the River, but he was OK afterwards. Because the Night was excellent

Does everyone not realise that Springsteen wrote "Because the Night?"

And the best ever cover version of it was by the Waterboys who used to merge it with "The Pan Within" in ten minutes of brilliance

Yeah, the sound mix was a bit off for the first few songs and he did a rather strange version of "The River" which made it difficult to sing along to but all in all it was a great concert. The unplanned(?) "Pretty Woman" got a fantastic reception. Still missed a few favourites like "I'm on fire", "My Hometown" and would have like to hear "The Wrestler" as well.
Would definitely go and see him again.

According to Because the Night (Wikipedia) he co-wrote it with Patti Smith.

Ah. No, I never realised that. I just always assumed it was Patti Smith (hence the? in that sentence I wrote).

I missed "Lucky town" and "Human Touch" (although I know I will probably get roasted for that last one).

I'm not sure that the Patti and Bruce versions are exactly the same though. Bruce wrote the song originally and Patti added something to it afterwards, don't know what

I was kind a hoping to hear Thunder Road, but given the way the set was playing, it would'nt have fit. I also wanted Hungry Heart in there too, but hey I enjoyed the night never the less.

The Big Man seemed to be struggling, he barely moved all night.

Never seen him before, but he seemed to be moving about plenty to me!

The Big Man is Clarence, Bruce is the Boss

Bruce Springsteen Fan , and I thought it was most excellant night, agree it took two or three songs to get the sound right, had a 80 year old next to me and he was well up for it.

Thanks

Bruce
