Maybe a bit late to jump on board but if anyone has got car with room for me and my board I'd love to come along...

If Gideon can take your board, my skis and Jooly's (if she has some) then yuo could squeeeeeeze into the back of the car. It will be a tight fit though.
I am not sure if Gideon is able to accomodate some many skiis AND boards.

no i find it very uncomfortable having more than one pair of skis inside me.
thats why i bought racks for the car.
seriously best thing is to work out who has got what. isabella how many boards/skis can your car accomodate?

Tom17 and BostonSportsFan are travelLing with Isabella. Tom17 has a board, BSF has mofo skis. It is highly likely that BSFs skis need to go on your roof. My skis will only have to go on your roof if i am taking tench. As i understand it Isabella can take Tom17 and his board.
Can your roof accomodate:
your skis
oscars skis
BSF skis
My skis
Gabi skis
Brad Skis
Tench Skis (???)
???
gideon
Jan 26 2005, 6:18 pm
yes. can take eight pairs in total, could also put osdars in the boot of the car and carry nine pairs in total. i would give you the second key for rack so that if mr lions myself and our mystery passenger (i bet i get a canadian) go off earlier you can find our car in the parkplaztz and get your skis off yourself, although as you have a bmw you'll be driving like a mad man and will get there before you have left. does mean people getting there on time though. or you driving with oscar to christlum... mmmm. you'd have to listen to my crap apres schi hits cassette all the way!!

Couldn't figure out from all of the posts about Tom breaking his wrist what the current situation is, but if a spot comes available for Sunday I would like to go.

ksa will maybe come over from rosenheim or where evere near the austrian border he resides.

Julie, do you want to borrow my carvers for the day? No skiing on rocks

Someone at the resort could surely fit them to your boots.. I can check how long they are tonight, but they are not too long.
This is only do-able if Graham can fit skis as well as my board when he picks me up to get me to the meeting point...

@ 3 lions no, it's not much cheaper to rent just skis, it's really silly. And I need to pay a deposit, 2 months' rent, moving fees and also a flight to the UK this month so need to watch every penny! (whilst still feeding skiing addiction, of course..)

Not to mention all the rumours flying around here about how our pay is about to be cut by 20%. I hate all the uncertainty, and just hope to God this isn't true!

Hope you dont mind yellow skis

perfect... I have a theory about yellow skis, I'm sure they're even faster than red ones. Will try to prove it for you

Not good the business...
JoolyBooly
Jan 27 2005, 2:26 pm
sure, go to Sport Scheck or Sport Schuster by
Marienplatz, they have sales on. Sport Scheck also has a "Hot Spot" with super reduced stuff, in the
Ostbahnhof. Even department stores have them,
Karstadt sport by
Karlsplatz has good deals and on Saturday they employ ski-pro's to advise you, very good service (but very busy, takes a while).
I'll ask my friend if he still works there (he's ex-pro and also gets discounts).. think he stopped when wife had baby, yada yada yada...
If not Sport Bittl is very good but it's not on your side of town.
@ codered, I'm afraid they did mention what to do.. not with COM but with the Handysparte... no fixed details or start date, but we're to be "saniert" until further notice.
yahoo news I think tomorrow's "all hands meeting" will be interesting, if Joos doesn't come up with details there'll be a riot. It's too long to keep up uncertainty without communicating info. My colleague is buying a house and has a baby, he's so nervous he can't even work. And you can tell how I feel by the fact that, if it weren't for TT, I would be in a bar right now or back home in the UK taking over my family business. I didn't study and work for so long to deserve this lack of openness. I support them making cuts, but they should have acted way earlier and should be talking to their staff, not the press.

Jan 27 2005, 2:26 pm
yes red is rather fetching...
for the canadians here i'll tell you why we leave early...
we leave early because oscar has a ski course at 9:00. last year i offered mr lions the chance to come along with us and i'd teach him a bit of the 'ol bretteln'. owain came round to my place with his good lady wife for a curry, and revealed that the doctor had given him the of to ski, and i said hey come with us! last sunday - glorious sunshine by the way for all the doubters out there - i said, although i was driving at the time, that it was a shame some people went on the saturday and we on the sunday. maybe we could get everybody together! and excuse the pun, things snowballed from there. we set of early as i drive slowly and it gives us plenty time to get there skis on etc.
and the snow is better at nine in the morning.
and i'm driving with the skis, so get there on time or stay at home and play with your mapel leaf.
JoolyBooly
Jan 27 2005, 2:34 pm
I think it's ok, the ski buses leave even earlier. And it gets us back early enough to either go for dinner or have extra time to relax and get ready for "work" the next day (which, in my case, will be a 10 hour crisis workshop fighting against 12 project leaders, followed by 3 hours of intensive spanish. Roll on next weekend!).

Jan 27 2005, 2:57 pm
the earlier the better as far as i am concerned! Get there early, no dodgem cars in the car park, first lift up, nice fresh snow, ski hard´, early lunch (again missing the crowds) and home when you like.
Only canadians want to lie in bed when you could be skiing!
Anway, wasn't Canuckthe one that wanted to drive 2,5 hours away to some godforesaken mountain half way to Nepal? That would have meant getting up even earlier!
Stop whinging, boyo! People who tag-along with the drivers do as the driver says!
