i love to read books. i read them all the time, mainly on the S and U-Bahns, since i spend so much time commuting. but i only know two shops in munich - hugendubel, with it's branches, though i mainly use the one on
Marienplatz, and another shop near one of the U6 stations which i forgot the name of (i think it's called simply "the english book shop" or something like that). But
Hugendubel offer a limited supply, mainly thrillers and best sellers, and the other is kind of pricey...does anybody know any other shops in munich?
P.S
i'm reading now "The Plot Against America" by Phillip Roth, and it is highly recommended...very good book...

Perform a
search. There have been about
seventeen hundred threads about this topic most of them recommending the used bookshop in the westendstr.

If you want to borrow rather than keep buying...the Bookshelf is a volunteer-run lending library. I just started volunteering there and for a little place they are packed with books and good ones at that! You can check out their website here:

There are several bookstores that might have this book. You can check with
Dave Dowdy as he has two now I think and then there is the guy that will open a bookstore near
The Arc any day now if not already. Both have advertised here on TT. Then there is always eBay and
Amazon.
Dave's second location.

I'll second the Wordsworth recommendation. At first you might think it's small...but it keeps going...and going...they've got quite a selection.

Using the search function (upper right corner) would be a good idea. Example:
English bookstores in Munich.

amazon.de online has a good selection and quick delivery. You could also try bookswapper.de an english book swapping site, though finding specifically what you are looking for there might be tough, it is more like browsing a library and finding something that sounds interesting. Hugendubel has a couple of locations in Munich but whether they have exactly what you are looking for I don't know, but they do have large English sections. There is also a used english book seller here on Toytown (use the search function, I am drawing a blank right now) with a very large selection. Good luck.

I'm moving home at Xmas and I am selling off a big collection of books relating to National Socialism and the Holocaust, I used all these books for research to become a tour guide at the KZ Gedenkstatte Dachau (Memorial Site), I have also got a load of DVD's related to the same subjects incl Shoah by Lanzmann, signed copies from Prof Ian Kershaw etc. PM me if you want a full list.
