Out in Munich: Weekend Report (Nov 7-8, 2003)

pao
http://www.prager-fruehling.de/: We started out Friday night here.

ENTRY: 5 Euro
DOOR: Not Selective
ATMOSPHERE: This place has a bit of a mod 70's vibe, but it looks like it's been this way since then and not a retro fit... nice, small, tables to chill, a bar, a small dancefloor, and another bar hidden in the corner with a little chill area
GENDER RATIO: Heavy on the Wurst, maybe it turned around after we left
SOUND: Very Nice
MUSIC SELECTION: Excellent, 70's dancefloor brazil and boogie selected by the boys from
Into Somethin' and friends.

http://www.funkykitchen.de: Later on Friday night. FK is now the standard by which I personally judge clubs.

ENTRY: 6 Euro
DOOR: Selective (to keep out the Dutch and Brit pudds that are just looking for tail ), come early or with female(s)
ATMOSPHERE: This place is beautiful, at least the section we stayed in. It is like two clubs in one with it's separate rooms. The room we were in was a slick mod cafeteria with projected visual stimulation, stylish furnishings and plenty of room to chill
GENDER RATIO: Balanced
SOUND: Excellent, Top Quality
MUSIC SELECTION: Excellent, quality Deep House and Electro with soul, with The Clash, Kylie Minogue and The Roots remixes blended in to keep the floor moving

The Garden: We went here Saturday night just to check it out. Doubt we will be going back unless they have some special event. The crowd was young and a bit obnoxious, and the music was uninspiraring

ENTRY: 6 Euro
DOOR: Not Selective
ATMOSPHERE: small, and not much space to sit or chill, two bars, not much ambiance
GENDER RATIO: Balanced
SOUND: Muddy
MUSIC SELECTION: Repetitive and soulless Big Party Beats, not my taste

This information is, of course, filtered through my personal taste. . . but hopefully it is somehow helpful.

Useful post Pao, thought I'm not sure quite what you're trying to suggest with your 'Brits who are looking for tail' comment. Who do you mean exactly???
