I still havent seen this, so myself, Eric the Hamster, Sk8rgrl & Winegirl(I think) are going along to see this tonight at 19.50.

According to Eric, there is a bar right next door to the cinema, the name I do not know yet. But we will get the tickets early enough and then have a couple of drinks before hand.

The bar you should go to beforehand is Dreigroschenkeller. It's just around the corner and a very cool place. Order an Isar Plopp, top notch home brew. Take my word for it.

Thanks to Keydeck for the info there. You see now I only thought that Plopp was only a chocolate bar...but there you go, you learn something new everyday.

Anyone else fancy joining us?
Showem
Hmm. Depends on whether the DnD crowd scares me out of my own home or if it seems fun enough to join in with them. Can I contact you last minute?
Gen
Joachim and I had even already planned to go! He'll get our tickets tomorrow afternoon though, no coordination hassles for us.

There are a few bars right there -- I'm more for going somewhere after the show, esp as it starts so early.

Great flick. Saw it a few weeks ago up north. Watch out for the baby! biggrin.gif
Gen
shoot, just realized it's in Museum -- I don't like Museum, so we won't be going there. We'll wait until it's in Cinema.

(I've been to ML too many times where the camera's been shaky and poorly focused -- hell for subtitled films, and they do tend to be subtitled and not just original version. Plus the screen's too small, or else we'd go see House of Flying Daggers there.)

Its already been on at the cinema. They only really show as matinees now, very rarely at a decent time.

I like Museum, it reminds me of the cinemas I used to go to when I was a lad!!! wink.gif

The wife and I hate the ML. Everything is way to small! dry.gif
Well, if you aren't a lad now, then what are you? wink.gif

Thats the thing, a lot of independant cinemas were driven out of business by the BIG corporations looking for the quick buck. ML is a throwback to those times and fond memories of almost being crushed to death queuing to see Rocky IV, Ghostbusters or seeing Jaws III in 3D.

These places die off, then you had to find a mate who would drive you the 5 miles to get to the nearest Multiplex. sad.gif A shame really.

ML isnt that bad, any place that has survived 29 years in the record books does ok for itself.
Gen
If they'd fix the damn camera I'd go there again, but they refused to even acknowledge that there was anything wrong with it. Don't remember which Saal had the bad camera unfortunately, or even if it was only one bad camera. The attitude drove me away finally. A shame, because they do get good movies in.
Lupo
My experiences at ML have been good. I like the unique, intimate atmosphere of the place.
DrivinWest
I'll meet you guys before and after but gonna skip the movie (seen it and it sounds like my 6'4" frame won't work well in those seats anyway).
Kat
The bar next door is called the Drei Groschenkeller (not sure about spelling). It's the next place around the corner to the right of the MLS entrance. It's a cool, dark little underground pub. Very good beer.

yep totallly agree. My TV is larger than one of the screens there! Although is is fairly handy for me since it is much closer than Cinema.

I don't think i can make but will try and see cos i really want to see this film.
JoolyBooly
you should, it's a superb film.

And in defence of ML, they have finally invested in new seats for Kino 4, it was getting to be like russian roulette going there, every time I went some poor sod got one of the broken chairs and suddenly disappeared laugh.gif

OK, so you don't get the cup holders and good leg room, and I go to Mathäser when they have english films on just as it's closer to home.. but I like to support ML as it has so much atmosphere (and I like to support the underdog)
Winegirl
No I'm not going...remember basketball? I'll be at The Arc if anyone wants to drop by before or after.

But the movie is really great. I say it last Oct. in the States. WOuld've loved to see it again but my bball boys come first!

Yes I remember that bit now. rolleyes.gif
