Hello All,
Just found you interesting and fun-loving folks. Anyhoo, my 3 single friends and I (the resourceful but married one) will be in Munich for a couple nights in early Dec. (Thurs-Fri nights) before we head to Austria for a week of skiing and I wanted to maximize our fun while we're in town (we've never been to Munich). Sounds like KPO might be the one stop drinking shop but wanted to get expert opinions too (is KPO closing BTW?).
If you'd never been to Munich and only had a couple days to party and do some very minor sightseeing what would you do??? We will be back in a week (Sat-Sun night) after skiing so we can pickup where we left off too. Checked out keydecks site and it was very helpful. May bug him for some advice. My buds and I are all in their late twenties and I'm the old fart at 31 if that gives you a better idea of what might float our boats club wise (the loud thumping and bumping clubs don't really appeal to us). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Great site BTW.

KPO closed and reopened as Kult-Fabrik. It's still pretty much the same - although there's fewer clubs there now. There's some good bars around - and of course beer-halls. Go to the
Hofbrauhaus, you'll have fun there. During the day, a trip to Dachau or the Deutsches Museum (a huge technical museum) might be what you're looking for. Of course there's also the Olympic park or Schloss Nymphenburg, which are both worth a visit. If it's a fine day you get a good view from the tower at the Olympic park. There's some churches and the
Rathaus (town hall) in the city if you want to see some of the architecture.
That should give you a few ideas to start with

Also try the BMW mueseum, if you ring and book ahead you might get spaces on the factory tour too...

Thanks for the advice Gents. Had planned to partake of a few German barley sodas at the
Hofbrauhaus (I know it's touristy but if you can't beat'em, drink with them) We'll be staying at a hotel near the
Hauptbahnhof, should I consider clubs like Palais? BMW tour sounds pretty cool BTW. We'll figure it out but you guys gave us options. Thanks again.

It's a tricky one coz I'm not sure what you older folk like to get up to... Nachtgalerie is CHEESE and you will be the oldest in there by a long way, so probably best avoided. Serious clubs, as I found to my cost last night, will only allow you in early or if your group is mixed gender...
Keydeck is an old boy now, so he's the man to ask...

Jimbo,
I sent a PM to Keydeck. We don't mind the dance clubs but we don't like pretentious and loud which it sounds like some of the clubs are. I would just like for my single friends to meet nice hot single women (is that so wrong) and I'd like to just meet cool people to hang out and drink with (I'm married so I'll live vicariously through my friends).
We'll probably hit a beer haus early in the day and club it later in the night. Any suggestions for Thursday nights? Seems like you can't go wrong anywhere on Friday nights. Well you're all probably out getting piss drunk so I'll wait till you recover in the morning for a reply.

And by cool people to hang out and drink with, I mean any of you TTs that would like to share a beer with us when we we're in town.

Hi FunDave. As a married gal in my late 20's I can maybe make some recommendations,as we also tend to stay away for the loud clubs. I did have a fun time at Pacha at one night (early morning), but that was basically because we were with a huge group of other late 20's, 30's folks. It's your basic dance club.
Zoozie's would be my first recommendation. It can get pretty crowded though, but my experience has been that the crowd is pretty much around my age group and (though my preference is toward the male gender) there are some attractive women.
Other places that we have hung out at on a Thursday evenings are Trader Vic's (in the Bayerischer Hof ) and Andechser am Dom. I can't testify to the availability of hot women, because most of the folks we've gone to these places with are attached and not on the look-out. If you end up going to Trader Vic's, let us know. The Polynesian Spare Ribs are GREAT.

So...many...clubs...so...little...time...
BarbieJane thanks for the recommendations. Many of the TTs here have been very helpful and my friends and I would love to share a few (or more) beers with you folks when we come into town in a month (Dec 11-12, 20-21). Would be cool to get your perspectives on life in Munich and Europe. As I was telling the others, it's not that we don't like to dance but we do prefer clubs where you can actually talk to people too and not be dressed to the hilt and bribing the doorman to get in. Hate clubs like that in the US and don't really want to travel half way across the pond to deal with it there. Maybe we could all meet at one of the clubs you guys have recommended.
Sounds like the TTs are a really fun group of people to hang out with from the banter I've seen on the site. I appreciate the response I've gotten from people to the complete stranger American who drops in here. Beans has been real nice and helpful (among many). Talk to you all later.
