Given the current economic situation it's not unrealistic to expect this will be the worst attended Oktoberfest in a long long time.
They should be begging us for attendance not turning us away.

What is the general opinion on various smaller groups on different days in different tents instead of a marauding horde? Of course, attendance is limited to one event only.
Sara, thank you very much for your hard work to make this happen! Either a big group or various smaller groups sounds great -- I'm sure it will be a lot of fun either way.

Smaller groups could be a can of worms - people wanting to see who's in which group, and shuffling between them. Potentially a lot of extra work for you.
I'd prefer to see non-TTers left off the list, as perdido suggested, but suspect that even that list will be quite long.
Any hint that the other tents will also follow the tourist-office wishes and disallow large bookings?

This seems to be the result of many, many, many melanin-enriched ba-bahs selling "reservations" on e-Bay and others, asking for €extortionate amount + the vouchers price. Every tent was asked to deal with it as they deemed correct. I spoke to one today that gladly cooperates with me because I bring in the right clientel but refuses to work with other commercial entities because they either cancel short term or bring in undesirable guests.
I have no idea what will happen once the other large tents begin processing reservations and can only rely on my good reputation owed mostly to customers found via TT. We may have our defects but at least we aren't a brawling bunch of drunken misfits.
P.S. I am counting the days until this issue hits the press.

Why wait for it to hit the press instead of just writing the SZ, AZ, TZ, and Bild yourself? Oh I bet you don't want to antagonize the tents...

is it no large reservation for the HBtent at all or just on the weekends?

@ Gen - Not until my reservations are confirmed
I have been discussing this with my resident German, but since I am not very visible, i.e. don't do e-Bay or advertise anywhere else than here I'm hoping to weather the blast and prefer to lay low.

For all of 8 years you mean?
I don't reckon the total beer turnover will go down but the ratio of locals to "overseas visitors" will rise.

No harm in that!
It will be more expensive for the English - if only we could do something about the Italians

No harm in that at all.

I personally quite like the idea of a TT do for TTers but then i'm not a plus one zur zeit.
Anyway, I thank you Sara for continuing to put something together on our behalf.
