When I was shopping for rings, I really liked the ones they had here, and they have unique rings for all budgets (my budget was rather low, and I love my ring) I only had mine shipped from Seattle to Rhode Island, but I think they do international shipping too. Good luck smile.gif

Someone told me that German Catholics wear the wedding ring on the right hand, while Protestants wear it on the left hand. Anyone know is that's true?

I'd also heard that that was the traditional way of doing things.

As far as I have heard Germany is the only Country in which people carry their wedding ring on the right hand. But I might have heard wrong.

FWIW, Canadians have the world's highest rate of diamond-as-engagement-ring - over 80%.

No, in the Netherlands there's a Catholic-Protestant element. Can't remember which of these wears the ring on the right hand though!

My xH wore his ring as an engagement ring on the left hand. It was sized too tight, so he left it there after the wedding. He was dang proud of that ring - had a sapphire set down into it, pretty old-fashioned. Looked nice on him, too.

I was the ring-hater in that relationship - can't even keep a wristwatch on. Only wore my ring when we were going to some event (of the sort to which he'd don his family signet) and he asked me to put it on.

You can buy engagement rings here in Germany too.

I got my engagement ring at Tiffany's in Frankfurt. We found it by accident when we were ring shopping around Frankfurt. I think they have a branch in Munich too.

There's no shortage of diamond rings in Germany. They usually advertised as Brillanten for diamonds. One assistant was quite put off when I said Germans don't bother much with engagement rings, oh no that's not the case.

There's Christ Jewellers all over germany http://www.christ.de. Wempe is big too. http://www.wempe.com

Wempe might be big, but I had terrible customer service there. My experience engagement ring shopping in Munich.
