Snowboarding day trip - 27 or 28th Jan.2005

hey powder junkies... i'm going stir crazy, it's been such shite boarding weather. on the bright side, it's supposed to snow all next week and then clear up toward the end. if that holds true, i'm heading out on thursday or friday the 27th or 28th. just a day trip to garmisch or someplace relatively close where the conditions are good.

i can take one person along [two people if someone loves the sport enough to squish themselves in the back seat of an audi TT for a couple of hours]. i've got a thule rack on the top of the car which can fit 3 boards + misc. equipment.

PM me for a spot or, better yet, post here and maybe we'll rope in someone with more leg room

am in colgone ..otherwise i would have been up for it. hopefully, these weather predictions hold true !

I'm skier, but I have a station wagon with space for up to four people plus skis/boards.

Well it just stopped snowing and it must have dumped around 25-30cm the last two days...and I have to work. Can someone beam me into the powder?

i may still go thurs or fri [in addition to sunday] depending on how the weather forecast shapes up... u off work either of those days troublemaker?

Got a tooth pulled yesterday and am supposed to rest (so the wound doesnt break open) for three days...so it'll have to be the weekend for me. Haven't ask for days off anyways...

@ Omni and codeRed, check out the thread about skiing christlum this weekend, we're 3 cars confirmed with 1 possible seat free (or if Omni drives we have loads of space)

I would have definitely joined on Sunday, but instead of enjoying first powder snow of the season I'll spend that day sitting in a plane to Calgary

Sitting on a plane to Calgary means you will be one hour away from better skiing/riding than you will see in most of Europe and you put a sad face?!?

You're right but one hour can be pretty far away when knowing that I'll spend a whole week in meetings - all I'll see of the Rockies is their beautiful silhouette when they are illuminated by the rising sun!

Surprised to see on powderhausen.de that lots of resorts still have many lifts closed??? Whyzzat?
