Open mic night at Slattery's Irish Pub - Hamburg

Hey folks,

I've recently moved to Hamburg from Ireland and I've started an Open Mic Night in Slattery's Irish Pub (fittingly) , No.3 Fischmarkt. It kicks off at 7p.m every Wednesday and there is free food for all (you just have to buy a drink). It's a cosy wee bar and all that's missing are some more singers, songwriters, poets and musicians. So come one, come all! Sink a few Guinness or whatever your tipple is and let's meet up for some quality music

Just a quick update: Slatterys will closed this Wednesday (24.12.08) but the open mic night will resume in the New Year. Happy Christmas everyone!

*sigh* The festive season has sullied my informative skills! I meant to add that the next Open Mic night will take place on 07.01.09 and will be on every Wed following until further notice. Once more, i hope to see you there!

It's at the fischmarkt in St Pauli. Closest Ubahn is to the Reeperbahn and then head towards the harbour, and so, the Fischmarkt. Know where i'm on about? It's all acoustic (so far) and of course i'd love to have you play. Get yourself down this Wednesday mate. It kicks off at 7 (early i know) and i'd really love people to show up close to the start so i can organise better who's playin when and for how long etc. Failing that of course i don't care when people show as long as they come and bring friends! Lookin forward to seeing you there and joining our wee growing community.

I'm moving to Hamburg soon and will be looking for some open mic nights. I'm a singer and play a bit of piano, but sadly no guitar. Unfortunately, this makes me terribly un-portable! I don't suppose there's a keyboard at the venue... or better still, guitarists who would like to team up and play with me?

Sadly there is no piano or keyboard there I was the my first time last week and i also hoped they would have one. But if you sing thats amazing cause you could team up with one of us and we could get some sweet haromony going Either way its a fun time there.

Thanks Kevin and Murphy . I actually stuck my head into Slattery's on the weekend (I've been here looking for an apartment), and it looks like a nice intimate venue. Looking forward to coming along, probably in March.

Kevin, what is your view of a funny(but slightly cruel) song being played at open mic night? Since its i english i dont think too many people will understand...but you never know...

Well, as it's open mic night i'd say it's your call. As long as no animals or small children are harmed in the passing of an open mic night then i'm pretty much ok with whatever. I am intrigued as to what the song is...
