Crimbo is getting close, and as we are staying in town this year, we're going to need a big bird! Our local Metzger gave me a funny look when I asked if I could order a whole fresh turkey or goose, so does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can get my mitts on one? I don't mind a trip across town to get it, so suggestions fronm anywhere in/around Berlin would be good.
Cheers

Looking at the title of the post, I thought you were asking for those birds that don_rina talks about, all the time.

KaDeWe had one of the biggest birds I've ever seen (would never fit in a standard German oven) but as always, pricey.

Thank you! I'll pop round there tomorrow.
If the bird is big enough, look out for the invite to the left-over curry party.

A quick update:
Went to Rogacki on Saturday morning, was really lucky and was able to park just a few yards along the street. Ordering was easy, just asked at the counter and was directed to the back of the store, where ther's a small office. I asked about ordering a bird, and she took name, address, phone number and 10Eur deposit. Arranged a pick-up of 10am on the 24th. She said they would be busy, so I should be prepared for a wait on the day. Whole thing was quick and easy. Their prices seemed OK at 14.90Eur per kilo.
Lucky escape with the parking though - got back to find that the cars to either side of mine were blocked in with double-parking, it seemed that it was pretty common around here, as I noticed loads more double parking (none of the cars had anyone sitting in them - so no telling how long you could be trapped)

@Bradzki, I take it you will be back in Liverpool to collect your turkey/chicken from Tescos then...
