Partner dancing and party with M-Jive - Munich

This week's funky party-partner-dance M-Jive events are as follows...

Monday - Max-Emanuel-Brauerei. In the heart of Schwabing (U-Bahn Universität), two beginners classes (7.30 and 8.30pm)...you can come to either or both. You don't need to book, you don't need to bring a partner, you don't need to have danced before!!! Fun, simple and social dancing to hits of the past, present and (believe it or not!!) future. And all that for just €5!!!

Thursday - Die Lounge Bar, Perlach. In the heart of Neuperlach-Süd Well...right opposite the U-/S-Bahn station (exit West-side), it's a cool, cosy bar. We're doing M-Jive taster sessions at 8pm-ish...and then any-dancing-goes-after-work-party. They're a friendly bunch and it's not really 'the ghetto'!! Westsiiide.

Friday - a new offering in Party-Keller-Rebekka (in the basement of Studio Rebecca, Anglerstrasse 6)...2 mintues from Heimeranplatz U-/S-Bahn [U4/5, S7,20,27]. Starts with two fun partner-dance classes [suitable for complete beginners - 7.30 & 8.30] then the party goes to 1am.

Hi Folks

Lads lead, ladies follow...simple, fun and oh, so old-fashioned (not). M-Jive is a mix of a bunch of dancestyles (rock'n'roll, salsa, mambo, jive, etc.)...simplified to the extent that you'll learn 4 moves in your first lesson...and be able to bang them out in the freestyle party afterwards!

It's been built as a party dance...so there's more emphasis on communication, music and rhythm - than on which foot should tap in which direction on which beat. Ideal for those who thought partner dancing would be too stiff!!

Our regular Monday night in the Max-Emanuel-Brauerei (U3/6 Universität) continues this week - 8th Dec - with two classes (7.30pm for complete beginners, 8.30pm a wee bit more complicated).

You don't need to book, you don't need to bring a partner, you don't need to have danced before.

Music - pop and dance from the 80s to the naughties plus swing, blues and oldies from yesteryear.

€5 Eintritt.

(We've also got a free taster session on Thursday in Die Lounge Bar, Perlach (right oppoosite Neuperlach-Süd U/S-Bahn station; exit West-side), 7.30pm.)

Hi Folks! Maybe you've tried modern jive/ceroc/leroc...maybe not. Doesn't matter. It's the easiest dance to pick up and you don't need a partner. The music is everything from old motown and swing to modern pop and chart stuff.

We're starting on Monday 12th January with our regular Monday night 'Max-eManuel-Montag' ... in the Max-Emanuel-Brauerei, Schwabing [Adalbertstraße 33; U3/6 Universität]. The beginners class is at 7.30pm, then there's one for those who want a bit more adventure at 8.15. And finally freestyle dancing with our resident DJ from 9pm.

Starting Friday 16th is our new 'Funky Freitag' event. In the heart of the city, right by Stachus [Tanzstudio Richter, Sonnenstraße 3], the night kicks off with beginners class at 8, improvers 8.40 and party time 9.15.

In the Max-Emanuel-Brauerei, Schwabing...a 5-minute walk from Universität U-Bahn. After the classes it's anything goes dancing, bar-time and - as always - the best music from every decade you care to mention.

Yes indeed, it's M-Jive time again...

Come along - with or without a partner (we'll swap you round with as many others as we have time for) - and check out the dance for all seasons, oldies and pop, dance music, swing and blues. Suitable for all ages and any kind of foot-dexterity. Parental permission not required.

Tomorrow - Friday 6. Feb - from 8pm in Studio Richter, right by Karlsplatz/Stachus U/S-Bahn and Tram stations - Sonnenstrasse 3, on the second floor.
There's a beginners class at 8, which is repeated at 9. Intermediate class at 9, and all-you-can-eat dancing from 10ish.

And - for the diary - next Monday, 9th Feb - we in the Max-Emanuel-Brauerei (in Schwabing) with SPECIAL GUESTS the Bavarian TV's evening show ''Abendschau''. Get on down, groovers. It kicks off at 7.30pm with beginners lesson, Intermediate class and repeat of beginners at 8.30, party from 9.30ish.

Yes folks...yet again...M-Jive is back...the partner dance where you don't need a partner and you hardly need to dance!

Pop music and oldies, plus a great social scene as we swap round dance partners the whole evening.

Howdy!

We've got a new M-Jive night - Thursdays in D.A.N.C.E. - right between Stachus and Hauptbahnhof.

M-Jive is modern jive...there's no footwork like 'real' jive - or any other classical dance, for that matter!!! We swap partners regularly so you meet loads of people and we dance to pop, dance, oldies, blues, swing...etc.

There's a beginners class (you can come along and begin anytime) at 7.30 pm and an improvers class around 8.15. The party kicks off at 9pm, with DANCE's resident DJ. This is a well-established night and there will be a bunch of 'proper' dancers there too...should be interesting ;-)

Just wanted to say that DANCE is a really nice location and very handy for U/S-Bahn connections. Was there a couple of weeks ago for the Charivari After Work party - comfy seating area, nice bar and dancefloor.

Tip: One could easily walk right by the entrance - it is right next to the Starbucks on the Schützenstr. (left of it when facing).

Get on down...

• you don't need a partner,
  
• a couple of left feet is perfectly adequate and...
  
• ballroom experience is definitely not required.
  

Monday in the Max-Emanuel-Brauerei - beginners class at 7.30pm, repeated at 8.30, along with an advanced class.
Dance whatever you like with our resident DJ'Evo from 9.15pm.
