OK, now trying to rearrange the Star Trek night, and it was put forward for Sunday 6th February, unfortunately I cannot host this at my place then, the first time I can do this at my place is Sunday 13th, and as this is Valentines day, maybe that is not a good idea, or perhaps a good idea depending !

So the question is ... Can anyone else host this on Sunday 6th ? or is Sunday 13th OK for everyone at my place ?
Kza
valentines is monday the 14th
3 Lions
Kza - Most likely people will do something on the Sunday as most people will be at work Monday.
Winegirl
I can't host, my place sucks for more than 5 people. Plus no couch so it's sitting on wood chairs. But I vote for the 6th if anyone else can host. I will most likely be in London or Sweden on the 13th. A Sat. is also okay with me if we start early so we can go out around 8-9ish.
Katrina
I'm ignoring that date this year on prinicple but is Star Trek really the way to do it? huh.gif
Personally I have issues with Star Trek but this is because I shared a flat at uni with a trek obsessive who tried to kill herself in the bedroom next door to mine.
It was not good.
She was from Prestatyn though so this might have more to do with her mental state than Star Trek though...
3 Lions
Well if she was watching Star Trek V at the time, I could understand. I wanted to throw myself out of a window everytime I sat through that film, except I was on the ground floor. sad.gif
butterbean
I might be able to offer Schloss Butterbean if there's enough interest.

You should know though that I have a little dog and am an infamous piker (not so much as jml or pascoe of course, but you know...ph34r.gif )
Winegirl
Yes we definitely want to do a Star Trak night and a seriously dorky one. I mean we're actually going to be staring at the screen and talking only in between the episodes unless it is directly relevent to the series...we are serious dorks.
3 Lions
A few ideas -

Pilot night - The Cage, Encouter at Farpoint, The Emissary, The Caretaker and Broken Bow.

One ep from every series - TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT

Holodeck Night- Your fave Holodeck eps.

Fave character Night - Your fave character eps - Q, Picard, Kirk etc, etc

Ladies Night - Janeway, Crusher, Troi etc

Alien night - Borg night, Klingon night, Romulan night, Ferengi night etc.

Lucky Dip night - Everyone attending puts their name in the pot, when drawn, they get to choose the next Episode to watch.

Comedy Night - The funniest ST episodes...though only Trekkies may find them funny.
butterbean
oh, jesus, Ken, you are an f-ing riot with this! laugh.gif
pepper
Well, we have to ensure that there is a future to the Star Trek night, and not just one sitting. There is just so many episodes to see/get through, plus maybe the films !
pepper
I am sure I can host a future event though.
butterbean
oh, I know. just thinking back to his plate collection...
3 Lions
Which I still have btw!! wink.gif
butterbean
well perhaps you can bring them so we can all "oooh" and "ahhh" tongue.gif
Darkknight
13th ain't good, can't make it

Boldly going forward, and things are getting worse!

Engine Room, Mr. Scott:
Ye cannot change the laws of physics, laws of physics, laws of physics;

Does any one have any William Shatner stuff ? A friend of mine actually owns the CD, with loads of songs of his. Errmm... worth listening to, sorry I mean hav'ing a laugh to once !
3 Lions
I believe that Pao has the Album that Leonard Nemoy released. The one with the 'Bilbo Baggins' song on it. biggrin.gif
Kebab Meister
I could host but unsure about the 6th & 13th Feb (going home to UK 7th - ??)

I live down in Taufkirchen though, but it is right next to the S-Bahn station (within Zone 1-4). I could seat 5-6 on comfy chairs and maybe 4 others on dining chairs.
pepper
Well I am guessing the 6th is better for everyone, but I cannot host it at mine on 6th. So We are looking for a host for the 6th, and some interest for the 6th.
Owain Glyndwr
both afternoons/nights clash with 6 Nations rugby, so i will not be able to make it.

sorry.
brokenm
I don't know any of you, but would love to join the festivities! I could also host a night in the future.
Has anyone ever played the Star Trek drinking game? I used to do it when I was much younger during University. It is a riot, for instance when Troi has an emphatic thought about something completely obvious, when Riker walks into the room with his head leaning more forwrad than his chest, if Spock makes a calculation, a whole beer if the ship seperates, Picard saying, Make it so...
3 Lions
The ship only ever separated the USS Enterpise NCC 1701-D three times in the TNG series didnt they, and once in the film?

The first time they ever did it, the procedure was called 'Emergency Saucer-Separ' - Nearly pissed my sides when Picard first said it!! biggrin.gif
brokenm
I agree, it was quite a surprise. But when these episodes are shown, we ended up watching quite a few after that as the beers kept coming! I found this link, but I am not certain if it was the one we played, plus we modified ours extensively, http://paul.merton.ox.ac.uk/filmtv/st-tng-game.html
UpQuark
Depending on the reaction to the quality of my place for Buffy night, I could host again on the 6th. Nothing planned for that weekend yet. Anyone else get the 8th off from work? Bear in mind that my living room is not nearly as spacious as Pepper's. Couch and comfy chair space for three, uncomfortable chairs for an additional four and then it's down to carpet. This is more or less adequate for a Buffy-sized crowd, but if there are 10 people or more as there were at Monty Python, things could get tight.
chewy
6th would work for me, as i'm buying into the great hallmark holiday the follwing weekend
3 Lions
An 'I didnt know they were in Star Trek' night - Actors/Actresses to have appeared in an episode before they were famous.

Just an idea. wink.gif
UpQuark
I like that suggestion. Ashley Judd (awful episode), Famke Jansen, James Cromwell (multiple times). Others?
3 Lions
Teri Hatcher, David Soul
3 Lions
Kirsten Dunst, Kelsey Grammar (Though technically he was famous at the time, though I dont think he appears in the Guest Star credits).
pepper
OK, are we any closer to making a decision ? 6th where ? or 13th at my place ? or another date ?
Winegirl
6th is cool with me, if we have a host.

can't make the 13th.
UpQuark
When were Kirsten Dunst and Teri Hatcher on?

@Pepper: either day is fine with me. I can volunteer my place for the 6th with the caveats I've already mentioned with regard to the size of my living room.
3 Lions
Teri Hatcher, better known as Lois Lane from Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, among many other credits, makes a guest appearance as Lieutenant B.G. Robinson. - The Outrageous Okona - Season 2

The Kirsten Dunst Ep - I cant remember it at the minute, it will come to me.
Topsy
according to IMDB it was:
"Star Trek: The Next Generation" playing "Hedril" in episode: "Dark Page" (episode # 7.7) 30 October 1993
3 Lions
BTW, we always seem to aim these DVD meetings for a Sunday. How about a Saturday, or even a friday(I finish at 3pm), we could then go for drinks afterwards.

QUOTE
when Riker walks into the room with his head leaning more forwrad than his chest

The Riker walk. Its one of my best three Trek impersonations. The other 2 being Odo, and Worf. Bloody fantastic they are too.
The Worf impersonation is not too good to try and pull off in Germany due to the lack of availability of one very vital ingredient, the Cornish pasty.
Winegirl
I also suggested Sat. afternoon then going out afterwards. I finish at 3 on Fridays also but Sat's would be easier.

I'm fine with the 5th or 6th. There's a bunch of stuff going on both nights that we could meet up with.
3 Lions
I think most Sundays coming up, I will be off skiing so that also means early nights on the Saturdays for me.

Saturday 5th or the 12th anyone?
pepper
OK, I will check if my place can host on one of these dates then ! Will let you know soon...
3 Lions
We just need the Uniforms now. dry.gif
Winegirl
I'll be in Sweden on the 12th so my vote would be for the 5th. I think UpQuark offered to host???
Gen
I'm in favor of the famous people you never knew were guests night. I could host sofawise, but we only have a 30cm tv, so really only 4 pairs of eyes fit on it.
kathie
Recently noticed that Kim Cattrall (Samantha from SATC) was in the last film with the old crew...
pepper
OK, 5th is not good for me as the Rugby is on, and England will be showing the Welsh how to really play rolleyes.gif , but looks to be the best for all. We just need a HOST now ! Any offers ??
3 Lions
@Kathie - You will also notice that Christian Slater also makes an appearance in that film.

@Pepper - If your match predictions are as good as they were for Southampton v Liverpool, then it may be the Welsh teaching the English a lesson!! wink.gif
UpQuark
As there were no complaints (that I know of) about my place for Buffy night, I'd be fine to host again. Nothing planned as of yet for the 6th. 3 Lions could comb through my comics collection, if he's so inclined.
pepper
Ok, if we do this on 6th, I could make it !
Jeeves
@UQ You have nothing planned for 6th? Apart from Superbowl that is? wink.gif (Just don't want you to with you hadn't forgotten it..)
