German driver's license test materials in English
How and where to get hold of the manual and tests
I am making the big step to convert my license into a German driver's license. Does anone know where to get a set of manuals and test practice questions in English?
If you go to a driving school they can sell you a set of test questions for the theory test in English or just about any other langauge you could mention.
Yes, I believe I paid around 50-60 euro for all of mine.
Has anyone noticed how terribly written the English book is? Jeez. Take these examples:

Not to be overly pedantic, but I think 'taking a decision' is proper Britspeak, oder?

Just to let you know, the original papers+book costs about Eur60.
I was charged 175 euros for theory. I don't know what they costed. but English version is always expensive. The book is edited by a professional driver school in charge of switch foreign driver license business.

In the last step of going through the very long and arduous process of being "legal" in Germany, I now have to take a theoretical test in order to obtain my drivers license Does anyone happen to have a copy of the study materials/practice tests in English that I could borrow. In the alternative, perhaps someone knows of a site or location wehre I could obtain a free copy . . . ???

i found a site where you could buy it from... but 65 euro seem a bit expensive. maybe ebay?

It says in your profile that you are from the USA. What State?? Some states have agreements that your license can be changed over without having to take the test. Mine was that way. If you have already checked this sorry to give info on something you already know.

every driving school offers these, or do you mean obtaining a second hand copy?

I have bought my material in February this year and took the test 2 weeks ago.
If anyone is interested, I'm selling it for 60,00 euros, (which is half the price I paid for the new one at the Fahrschule).
It comes with the text book plus 59 samples of tests which I have not used, so they are brand new.

I also have copies of the practice tests (a total of 60 with answer key) from when I took the test in January. Not wanting to start a bidding war or anything, but I'm selling my packet for 40 Euros, including shipping. Please PM me if interested.
Hello - I was a Pennsylvania resident and found information at this link when I was to get my German driver's license: http://germany.usembassy.gov/germany/servi...rs_license.html and it made me so happy. It gives the states with the reciprocal agreements with Germany and exactly what you need to get the German license without the tests. Good luck. ML
