For anyone out there who is either new to Munich and would like to learn to ski or who has been in Munich for ages and ages but never bothered to learn (but now wants to)...

Ken Lawler runs his own ski school, Parallel Skiing eV from here in Munich. He offers a series of lessons over 3/4 weekends from early January through mid February which uses the short ski method and is absolutely fantastic.

The first information afternoon (boot fitting, basic ski information, practice falling over - no really!) is being held at Ken's place on Sunday 23 November from 14:00. Meetup point is Quiddestrasse U-Bahn.

For more details see: Parallel Ski Munich Or e-mail Ken on <kenlawler@gmx.de>

Hi...
I wish to lear sking. How can i join this group. Would be open to join this weekend.
dreamer
I'm going this weekend as a tag-along too. Mr Dreamer is taking the course, and was very impressed with the first weekend.

@amit: At the top of this thread is all the information you need about the course, including a link to the organiser's website. I suspect its already too late to go this weekend if you haven't already signed up. But there's no harm in getting in touch to ask about future weekends.

I'm tagging along too... with my snowboard.

@amit
There is another info eve next Monday (the 19th) afaik. You would need to go to that to get a bootfitting and then you could do the last 3 weekends.

Thanks Friends. I am getting in touch with Ken.

That time of year again. Had the e-mail from Ken with details of the courses and initial info evenings for this winter:

BEGINNER COURSES

Beginner courses for adults start at the weekend of 9 Jan, to the
weekend of 7 Feb but we need signups now.

INFOEVES

Before the course starts, beginners must come to my house one

evening for general information, boot fitting, and a few ski exercises.

We will discuss the costs in detail at the InfoEve. The InfoEve itself is free

and non-binding. The earlier beginners come, the larger the boot selection.

Even those who are skeptical should come along to an InfoEve

and see for themselves how easy and fun learning to ski can be.

The next information evenings are Mon 26 Oct. 19:00,

Wed 28 Oct. 19:00, and Sun 8Nov 19:00.

e-mail me the names of those coming beforehand, so I can plan. Give me
telephone numbers and e-mail addresses. Tell me who can bring a car.

ADVANCED WEEKEND

The advanced Weekend this Autumn is scheduled for 5-6Dec.

Don't worry, you haven't forgotten everything! If you want to get some

skiing in beforehand goforit. The glaciers are already open.

BAMBINO COURSES

We are also offering courses for pre-school age children on 2-3 Jan and
20-21Feb
If you want to learn to ski, I can't recommend this course highly enough.
