Next night of the living undead:
DATE: SUNDAY 23 January 2005
TIME: from 5pm (unless people REALLY want to start at 3:00)
WHERE: Jahnstrasse 5
Ring the bell for Fannin. I'm on the 4th floor, left hand side.
Where I am: U1 or U2 (or U7) to Fraunhofferstr. North exit on the left hand side. First right to Jahnstr. and I'm a few doors down.
Next Episode - Um, not sure, but it's after the one where Ms. Calendar dies (she is sorely missed) and that one where Buffy and Angel experience the past memories of a teacher having an affair with a student.
Making good on a drunken pledge to host the next Buffy night, I am cheerfully offering up my place- not quite as big as Pepper's but hospitable all the same. Your chance to enjoy gothic action, pop-culture references, teenage romance and invented adolescent slang.

Hey, well I'm pretty excited to see this group! The only DVD set I brought with me from the US was Season 2 of Buffy and I was thinking, wouldn't it be fun if there were others who wanted to see these... And here you are!
Of course, I haven't caught up with you all yet. I only just finished the second DVD in the season. So, if I can catch up with you before the 23rd, maybe I'll see you all there!

Actually, I've only got two decent large wine glasses. Might be time to cave in and round out the set. Plenty of pint glasses for beer, though.

Guess that's with my big wine glass then

Drinking wine from a bottle is almost as classless as drinking beer from a bottle. Paper bags to be provided only in the event that someone brings along some Mad Dog 20/20.
Meanwhile, screw you guys, I'm buying more glasses.

drinking beer from a bottle is NOT classless. It happens to be a far better way than drinking from a glass (aslong as the beer was in the bottle to start with) because /A/ the bottle-glass is pre-chilled and the doesn't need to be coled down by the amber nectar and /B/ because the glass of the bottle is thicker than a that of a glass. For both these reasons beer kept in the bottle will not warm up as quickly as beer poured into glasses.
Of course, this theory assumes that the beer is consumed slowly enough for it to make a difference, which in my case is not so. but i still like bottles better.

Sorry, completely disagree. You get more wastage if you drink from a bottle. You end up with too much dregs at the bottom that taste like crap and more often than not leave rather than drink.

@3L with
Weissbier I would agree. But that stuff fizzes up your nose if you try to drink it out of the bottle anyway. Otherwise OG's experience co-incides with mine.

How bad does this look? Discussing the pros & cons of drinking from the bottle!!!

On Topic - Wont be able to make this one, I'll be out skiing.
Shame I miss the season finale.

Looks good. We are sparing the environment by not using glasses and thus saving UpQuark on washing-up.

and the bottels get re-used not just thrwon into a bottle bank and maybe re-cyceled.

Just pulling this thread back to remind everyone. I'll probably bake something but may bring wine instead if no one else is.

If I get back in to Munich in good time, I will try and make it. I am pretty close to the U2, so its not that far for me to go. I will send a text if I can come. What time do you reckon it will carry on till.

Just got the DVDs from Pepper and they do play properly in my machine. If memory serves (and it rarely does these days) things will start with Season 2 Episode 20 "Go Fish", in which Xander joins the swim team. After that it's "Becoming" parts 1 & 2; a thrilling climax to the season and a smooth intro to Buffy's greatest season. The Mayor, Faith, Xander and Willow's infidelities, Spike singing along with Sid Vicious: it all begins this Sunday. The perfect cure for your GM hangover from Saturday.

I don't want to alarm anyone, but I still only have the two red wine glasses, one of which I'll be using. So, if you're having wine, please plan accordingly. I do have some straws for Pepper, though.

I can provide wine (and beer) but just the one wine glass. (Actually, one good one. I do have a few awful red wine glasses if things get desperate.)

Sadly, no. Four big floors up, just past the landing with the gargoyle.
