I'm new to this forum. I'm in the US at the moment and plan to come to Hamburg in the next few weeks so my daughter can enjoy some Fall Colors. Can anyone tell me what to expect with regards to fall colors for the next couple weeks? Are they all gone by now? How is the the weather at the moment? Thank you very much for any replies.

Where and when to see autumn leaves
It is really beautiful here at the moment, but how much longer the leaves will hang on for I am not sure.
We just flew in to Hamburg today and I was surprised to see how green it still was from the air. Then once on the ground, noticed that a lot of the oak trees are completely turned and some other trees bare. It's hit and miss.
What I can't understand is why you don't head to the Laurentians or the Eastern Townships of Quebec - or to New England. Hamburg doesn't even come close to the colours you get there, and in a few weeks, they'll all be gone anyway.

We don't have "fall" here - its Herbst... It would never have crossed my bring to bring someone to Hamburg for the Autumn colours - other things maybe...I also was in the air today (flying a glider) and the country side is green and WET, very wet.
The leaves are falling off the trees - some trees in our garden have already lost all leaves; others are still green.
Its not been a "Golden October" up here but also no frost so far. Who knows which way the weather will go - could be wet & dreary, cold & sunny or even snow...
Just a few colors for you to see.

Thank you all for the replies. The reason I asked about Fall colors is that my daughter's family lives there and I was thinking of taking her over to spend some time with them (it's a surprise) and I thought of killing two birds with one stone by having her enjoy some Fall colors since I live in Miami and we definitely don't have "Fall" here. My daughter is 4 and I'm teaching her about the different seasons so it would have been nice. I have the option of going over to Hamburg really at any time of the year. Thanks again. This seems like a nice discussion group :-)
