Newbies first TT meetup

Hi all,
For any other newbies who need/want something to do for NY, how about a hookup at this 'Arc', apparently it's the cool cat hangout??
We're keen to meet fellow expats but a bit worried about that feeling of walking in on someone's clique and having everyone start checking their watches and 'aheming' and mumbling about having to wash their hair/feed the cat etc.
No offence to the regulars, but a little worried about gatecrashing anyone's party?

If anyone is 'aheming', then they are worthless! Seriously, show up at The Arc or the Twisted Bavarian and you will be fine. They are both a cool bunch. I would be there, but I am a family man and will be at home in my bar with guests doing raclette and later blowing things up! What a cool way to spend the night! I will however be there to watch my beloved UT play those A&M cow pokes the next day.

I'd have to say that I'm rather new and everyone has been really nice... I don't know if someone gave you a bad impression, but really, it's not a clique like you think it might be.

And eurovol is right...the Arc or Twisted will have people at both and Newbies are always welcome as I have learned. Maybe see you around

Nah, no ones given me a bad impression. I'm sure 99.99% of tt'ers are lovely folk. I just noticed a few newbies (including myself and my frau) posting comments which just get overlooked and as I'm sure you know, it's always a bit weird turning up to see a bunch of people you don't know. Will be a blast tho, looking forward to meeting every one.

Usually when meeting new people it can be hard because they are total strangers, but with TT you can get to know them a bit first and get into some interesting discussions so that the first time you meet them they arent really strangers anymore and you already have something to talk about. Its also great fun putting faces to names. See if everyone is how you picture etc..

Totally agree...everyone is a blast! They might not be responding cause most that have been on for a while just kind of skim through the threads... (hehehe...Im sure Im not the only one!) Sorry for missing you newbie posts...but like I said Im here to help...meet me at the Ubahn station if you need help finding the way to The Arc

Don't know if any of the newbies caught it but Plane Girl posted a "New to Munich" night also for next Saturday... a believe a bunch of us who are not new are also going.
