Meetup for English-speakers in or around Trier

I been living in this area for over a year now, and still I haven't found to many english speaking people...
I would love to find some new friend in the area... anyone intrested for a coffee some day?

I don't live in Trier, but I wouldn't mind driving the 25-30 minutes to have some English language contact once in a while. Let me know if anything gets organized.

Hi. I am near Ramstein/Kaiserslautern. I think we probably have enough of us to have some kind of get-together regularly. I have not seen Trier yet, but want to. Or, Saarland? Or? Suggestions as to where and when? Maybe after the holidays we can do a lunch somewhere. I am not the bar type so I'd rather have a day thing.

Did anything ever come of these ideas.

A belated Happy New Year to all!

The idea of an English-speakers meeting in Trier has been mooted for some time now but doesn't ever come to realisation so here's my suggestion:

A meeting in Trier on a date to be decided, say Saturday 1st or 7th Feb 2009.
Participants meet up late morning or mid-afternoon, say 11 or 3 o'clock near the Porta Nigra. Optional here I'd suggest a walking, sightseeing tour of the city, in English. The last time I did this we had as guide a very well informed German lady, married to a retired US serviceman, and it was excellent, but cold.
The tour should end approx. 2 hours later at the Dom followed by drinks at Walderdorffs (good wine, good snacks, good coffee) opposite.
Thereafter we disperse homeward.

There would be some communal costs arising from the tour, which from memory is about Eur 100 - 150 (details www.tit.de). For the salacious among us, I don't know who came up with that web address, but I'll bet it guarantees Trier a steady number of online visitors.

Who's game? Any other suggestions? Any other venues?

I would love to come for the tour. Please keep me informed.

Sorry to join 1/2 way through the thread but im up for the meet when its planned. I live in Lux (obviously due to my username) but am hoping to move up to Trier in the future and anythime i have some English conversation is much appreciated. Spent 4 months here which have been pretty quiet.
