Help translating a German employment contract

I've some text below to translate. Can anyone help to see if my translation is correct? It doesn't have to be word for word but the meaning. Thanks!

Der Arbeitnehmer hat seine Arbeitsleistung entsprechend dem Arbeitsanfall zu erbringen. Er erklärt sich bereit, im Bedarfsfall Überstunden zu leisten.

Die Arbeitgeberin wird der Arbeitnehmerin die Veränderung der Lage seiner Arbeitszeit jeweils eine Woche im voraus mitteilen.

Im german, so I wont try to give you the correct english translation, but I will try to explain the meaning of the german text, where I feel there might be a misunderstanding.

why would one include a term like "needless to say" in a contract?

The employer doesnt have to... - the employer is allowed to do so (it´s good for the employer and bad for the employee)
the employer can decide where when and how long the employee has to work (within legal framework)

as r100 already said: not according to legal conditions - according to the needs of the company

Id say it´s bad german. "... etwaige Überstunden und Mehrarbeit ..." sounds more like it

Hi! I received my contract for a job as a Research Assistant and they're all in German. Unfortunately, I don't speak a word of it (yet!). I wanted to know what the following means:

1. 50%-selle (related to my stipend)
2. Vermogenswirksame Leistungen
3. Along with 2. above, there wewre 6 options: 1/1 Stelle, 1/2 Stelle, 3/4 Stelle, 1/4 Stelle, 1/3 Stelle, 2/3 Stelle

What do these mean? Thanks in advance!
