Does anyone know of a good place that will show the upcoming world series? I suppose maybe that Marriot by
Nordfriedhof might - though I hate the Bostonian sports bar look they've made for themselves. Any other places?

Sorry Randy, that's the only place I can think of that might have it. You could try phoning the embassy or
Amerika Haus to see if they know anywhere else.
But you can probably help me with this question: Where were the Angels before they went to Annaheim? It's driving me crazy trying to remember.

Thanks, I'll try calling them and see what I can find out. Oh, and it's Oakland...

I'd love to catch the World Series on TV, but with the time difference, is catching it live out of the question?
I think that the Anaheim Angels were previously the California Angles, who may have previously been the Los Angeles Angels (not quite sure about that last one). But I do believe that they've been based in the LA area since they were an expansion team in the early 60s.

The World Series? I have absolutely no idea what sport you're all talking about. A quick search on Google came up with Cricket, Basketball, and Motor Racing. Anyone care to enlighten the us? I wouldn't want to miss anything.

I seriously doubt that you don't know what we are talking about Jake, but just to clear it up, it's baseball. World Series, won within recent memory by a non-US team.

Do non-American teams really play in the world series? I thought it was just another case of Americans not knowing about the rest of the world existing beyond their borders...

That's right...isn't it the top and wild card National versus American League teams? And it's only played in the States because of history and not ignorance right? It's the great American passtime. Funny name though, I admit.
Take me out to the ballpark, take me out to the game...

The Little League truly is international. Japan has frequently been the top team in that world series.

The World Series is named so, because the original sponsor was the New York "World" newspaper.

Along with the Stanley Cup, I suppose you want a rather large, beach-based park back too? Stanley Park in Vancouver.
