Have you read the manual?

If the manual is anything like its little brother, the 7170, the manual is a) in German and b) not that good (although others are much worse).
For incoming calls, there has to be a mapping between the number and the telephone answering it in the setup. If you have VoIP (say, Freenet) or ISDN then you can have multiple numbers and these need to be assigned to the telephone connections under the menu "Einstellungen->Erwieterte Einstellungen->Telefonie". Unlike the 7170, the 7270 does DECT as well, but as I only know the 7170 I can't help on the specifics for that.

Depending on your VOIP provider then you might need some kind of super special login and password to be able to register with the SIP servers to receive incoming calls - e.g. for Alice customers whose telephony is provided via VOIP this was the case for a while (but for outgoing calls you didn't need the second login). Now I think they've changed it so that you can't even make outgoing calls without the second set of login details, and they don't give those out.
Summary: ask your VOIP provider what settings you need.
Otherwise, make sure that you've set the telephones to respond to the correct/all numbers - otherwise the box could be getting the calls but not ringing the phones.

have you possibly made the mistake I did and thought 'oh festnetz and tick the box?
I had to reset everthing and start afrom scratch and reinstate the internetrufnummern as shown on your isntallationcard.
if you dont have isdn, ensure you select analogue for the phone (unless you have a DECT phone on the system too)

If you look on their home page then you can normally download the English version of the manual in pdf format.
I done this for the 7170. But I agree that it is not the most informative.
