That song about tying up Indians - Munich

A crowd pleasing song was played a number of times in Shottenhammel that included the following actions:

• Holding reins as if riding a horse
  
• Putting two fingers up behind the head
  
• Whirling a lasso
  
• Clapping a closed fist against the palm
  

My friend and I asked a nearby Bavarian girl about the meaning of the song, her reply: 'its about catching girls from indiana and having sex'

We were quite astonished that such a song would be a crowd pleasing hit! Can anyone shed some light on the meaning or the rest of the actions?

It's not about Indianans, it's about Indians -- as in Cowboys and Indians.

Astonished that a smutty song pleases a half-drunk crowd? You must be an Oktoberfest newbie.
I tend to ignore that kind of song anyway. Anything that has gestures to go with it (Ententanz, Ketchup Song, etc.) is not really where it's at.

While we're on the subject, what are the words to the 'Prosit' song? Currently, my version of it goes: "Ein Prosit, ein prosit, humm, hum, HUMM, ... Ein Prosit, ein prosit, HUMM, hum, humm."

I think you are referring to "Cowboy und Indianer".
Honestly yesterday I have heard it in the Hacker-Pschorr tent for the very first time in 6 years of Oktoberfests, so it looks like it's becoming popular at the oktoberfest, at least in tents with your people, or somehow I never noticed it before.
Before that, I always heard it in Austrian Apres-Ski parties (i.e. these places were you end up partying right after skiing, still wearing your boots) and sometimes in the Köln Carnival.

Here are the first sentences:

Wir reiten um die Wette,

Which means something like:
"take the lassoo, let's play Cowboys and Indians, we ride without rest and without a goal, you surrounded me, I will surrender!"
ok, I think I don't need to go ahead translating these profound and deep lyrics... you probably got the point.

she's probably still laughing about that stupid aussie she made fun of.
Or it was a hint that she wanted to get dirty with you .. did she say something like "oh btw I'm from indiana"?

It was only this morning I came too, got the knots undone and rushed to an internet cafe to ask what the hell happened. That song will haunt me.

At least I can refer to it by name instead of "the Indian rape song" from now on.

Fixed it.

They're missing the final action in that video where you take the side of your fist of your right hand and slap it against the open left palm to make a slapping noise for the 'wie beim ersten mal'
