How to dial a UK telephone number from Germany

Hello,

I have recently had an Unity Media telephone and internet connection installed, everything seems to work fine apart from when I tried to call the UK. After entering the usual 0044 then telephone number, an automated message tells me that they didnt understand the number. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong? I have tried without the 00 but get through to someone else in Germany. Do I need to dial any special codes?

At the risk of stating the obvious, you have left out the 0 from the British number haven't you?

thanks for that. I did solve it but it was the opposite of what you said. I was adding the 0 when I should have left it out!

So it was exactly what I said.
