How to change YouTube language settings

Options for the interface in German/English/etc.

Is it just me, or has YouTube.com suddenly switched to a German-language interface with no way to change it back?

I've set my browser to English as the preferred language, and I've searched the YouTube page settings high and low for a language option, but there isn't one.

I can choose for, say, British content. But not for English language.

Mine's still in English.

Editor Bob, it is clear that your time has come. You are finally at one with your inner German. You have been integrated.
eurovol
Mine keeps getting switched to Australian and I have to keep switching it back. It does seem to be recently and it is annoying!

While I have clearly been outtegrated. I can't even figure out how to set it to German if I wanted to (not that I do).
Keydeck
Eurovol's on the other hand is just trying to convince him to emmigrate.
mlovett
no problems with YouTube, but sometimes Google.com forces me into .de, and it drives me nuts!
Keydeck
I have a little steering wheel for the same purpose.
mlovett
For driving your nuts? You might want to say a REALLY BIG WHEELBARROW, instead of a LITTLE steering wheel. The chicks will be more impressed.
ski
Can't you just click where it says "Deutsch" (next to word "Worldwide" at the top of your picture) then select English?
Komland
Works for me...
Editor Bob
Yep, that does it. Problem solved. Thanks.

They have recently changed this. It used to be a globe/flag icon in the top right. Now it is the text link at the top left.
ski
Yeah I noticed this changed yesterday so that's why I know how to change it back.
UrbanAngel
And you were taking the mickey at those users who complained about Facebook slightly changing the layout.. tut tut!
Kay
The original subtitle was better.
Kat
Same stupid problem. No clue in the URL on how to change back to English. Too integrated I guess. Try clearing the cookies and making sure your Windows version is English (mine isn't). I'd lay bets that it's picking that up.

EDIT: Just read the anti-intuitive advice to click on 'Deutch' - which really does bring up the language options. Thanks!
