Hello!

For those of you who do not know the BBC programme ´Strictly Come Dancing´ you will find this post rather dull, and think me a totally hopeless case. I am, I apologise.

For those of you who do know what I´m talking about - Please I need your help if you can give it. I´m absolutely addicted to the show, which starts on Saturday. Last year I watched it via the internet, but later found out that it was illegal and the site was taken off the internet!!! And the BBC refuse to let anyone outside the UK watch things on their website (totally unreasonable) I live in a rented flat and so cannot set up a satellite. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can watch this show. I´m even willing to pay people to record each week and send me the recordings.

Please help

could you explain exactly what situation you are in that prevents putting up a satellite dish? Maybe someone here could give you some advice on how to go about convincing your landlord that it is ok.

While this is irritating, if you are not paying for a TV licence and therefore not contributing to the cost of making the programme, I fail to see how it is totally unreasonable. Do you want the BBC to have advertising and become just as shite as ITV?

However, I agree there is a flaw in the system, as if one does have TV licence and is abroad, you should have the opportunity to watch what you pay for.

If you are desperate, can't you get somebody in the UK to record it to DVD for you and then send them over?

you could pay for VPN connection in the UK (You can get one for about a tenner a month) and then use BBC's iPlayer to download and watch the shows... Satellite ist the best way to go though.

Or you could spend the money on therapy...

I watch it via my slingbox, which my in-laws have set up at their place, maybe you could investigate that option as a long term solution? There is a whole other thread dedicated to Slingboxes and how to use them/set them up etc..
