Any thoughts about the comparison?
Here are more details.
Audi A4 Avant TDI, EZ 2004, 96KW, 60000km , €16000, Euro4. Automatic. Diesel.
VW passart 1.9TDI, EZ 2004, 96KW, 80000km, €14000, Euro3. Automatic. Diesel.
Audi A4 Limo 1.8L, EZ 2001, 96KW, 50000km, €10000, Euro4, Automatic, benzin.
Heard that diesel is better for using longer...
Any person who ownes one of them? any experience?
thanks much.

you need to be doing about 16-18TKM per year before a diesel starts to be cheaper to run. Servicing a diesel is more expensive but the engines are reputed to have a longer working life though that is often negated by other parts failing and needing replacing first. Although I actually prefer the torque of diesel engines so am happy to pay a slight premium.
VW Passat is a good car for the money, especially the Kombi but Audi has a little more prestige. You may find that BMWs are cheaper than Audi in Munich due to the excess supply of used company and employee cars.

Thanks for the reply.
my intention is to use a car until it really dies.
It shoudl not be way too much expensive to maintain(ofcourse we do not know this before hand for this specific car..).
passart sounds good I guess...

anyone know if the Euro3/4 business is for real? meaning, will it be a big issue if I get an Euro3 now?

As it stands at the moment to enter Munich inside of the Mittlerer ring you have to have a car that conforms to euro 2, 3 or 4. As long as you have one of the stickers, red yellow or green, it doesn't matter, you're fine. Of course when they discover that excluding the 5 cars that don't conform to these standards makes no difference to the pollution, then they will probably ban the euro 2 cars and then eventually euro 3, but that's going to take for ever.
