Anyone gonna watch the Australia V Ireland game on Saturday? Kick-off is 11:30 as far as I know, which is a lot more reasonable than last weekend was.
I'll be watching it down in Günther Murphy's.

I'll be watching it, though I must confess I will be praying that Ireland bows out in a graceful manner. Same goes for Scotland if we win our next match.
I must say though, it's been rather exciting so far.
Due to business reasons, I had to return early from Australia or I would have been there in person for a few games but I'll be in Rome in March for Scotland v Italy.

Bow out gracefully? We shall do no such thing. We'll be getting our arses severely hammered and we'll mope off muttering about the moral victory. Eireann go brath!

According to the BBC, the Irish game kicks off on Saturday at 09:35. Plus, Rugby365.com has it listed at 20:35 local time which matches what the BBC said.
So, ignore what I said originally and if you wanna watch the game it's kicking off at 10:35 and NOT 11:35 as stated on Günthers events page.

And I will most likely be the only bloke in there with an Irish rugby shirt on drinking a pint of milk. Shouldn't be too difficult to spot!

'Twas a fantastic match.
Read the Guardian commentary. It's pretty good & quite amusing.

Ireland were pure dead brilliant not forgetting Wales.
My initial thoughts were that New Z, Oz and dare I say England were the only contenders for the cup but things have changed so I'm putting my money on France. Who do you recken will win TT folk?

Dare I say I'd love to see Wales win next weekend. You never know anything is possible, they nearly caused a major upset against NZ.
Granny

But who do believe the ultimate winner will be, Scotia?
With a name like that I hope you are not under any false illusions that Scotland has a chance of winning?

Never say 'Never'. Scotland have been improving (purely because they couldn't get any worse !!) so maybe everything will come together on Saturday. One game at a time Granny, the final is just too far away.

If they win, I'll buy you a pie and a bovril or is that just at the football? You'll have to forgive me but I'm a recent convert to rugby.

jimbo, no offence like but why would you wear a y*d shirt to the rugby?
Jimbo
Nov 4 2003, 12:11 pm
Coz I've just ordered it in, and it will be the first sporting event I will be attending post arrival of said y*d shirt. And I don't have a rugby top, so this is the next best thing.

Shan't be rising to any baiting about which teams are shite and which or not. That's the kind of childish behaviour that football supporters go on with.
So, is anyone likely to be going to Günthers Saturday & Sunday mornings? Arrive early and you can help to put the chairs out and pick the bestist one for yourself. Plus, Jake's there for moral support and general cheering up duties should you be in pain from the night before.
Sorry but france v ireland and new zealand v south africa will be better games to watch than the england v wales and australia v scotland games.
england and australia arent going to have many problems beating wales and scotland, where as france & ireland and NZ SA are evenly matched and therefore will be much more interesting to watch.
And as for being on too early...stay out longer! Its not hard, I did it myself the other weekend. ended up in temple bar and left there at 7.30 and went straight to Bondi who open at 8. I'll be doing it again both days this weekend. I have to admit that by the time the england came on at 10.30 I was seriously struggling and the hangover had started to kick in but I know this week not to stop drinking
Jimbo, I have 2 rugby shirts, although admittedly they will be too big for you I can lend you one if you want. Much less embarassing than wearing a spurs shirt! (and Im a leicester fan)

@Flogger
No, it hasn't arrived yet, but when it does, anybody who even THINKS about spilling something on it/mopping something up with it, will have their North London rights withdrawn for life. I run that town, and don't you forget it.
And tonight, I shall be modelling a fetching suit.
@Bex, a rugby shirt is probably a bridge too far for me to be honest. If I go any further down the posh toff route, I will officially be a posh toff, and I don't need that in my life. And as for Leicester...LEICESTER!!! 2 words for you Bex, WORTHINGTON CUP. Muhahhahaha... We're such a great side...
Jimbo and sparty in suits...god Im going to be missing out big time tonight!
Jimbo
Nov 4 2003, 2:19 pm
Jimbo OUT of a suit, now THAT is a sight for sore eyes, I can tell you...
you beat leicester...acrington stanley could beat Leicester on their current form so I wouldnt blow that trumpet too loud
Jimbo
Nov 4 2003, 4:01 pm
Yes, but we beat Leicester when Leicester were just a bit crap. Savage still played for you in those days. God I hate Savage.
And what about your away win of 2-1 a few weeks ago, I was actually there for that game and to be honest we played much better than you.
Poor little dickov must have felt he was in a rugby game he was battered around so much and the ref just ignored it all.
It was just typical leicester though, to get a lead and then throw it away with stupid errors in defence.
And if bloody ferdinand didnt kick like a woman...
Yes I am a leicester fan but I am the first to slag us when we play badly, which is all too often, but that was a good game from us, first in a long time.

From what I heard, you did deserve to take something from that match, but I didn't see any of it so I can't comment. I'm afraid to say though, that you are going down this year... (Leicester FC I mean, not you personally). We have a whole host of problems ourselves though, which probably don't belong on this thread (sorry Bob, I know, I know...) which I will only discuss once drunk anyway...as 3Lions will testify, when drunk, I am an avid fan of El Tel.

O'Driscoll looks more like Jim Davidson to me...and if u search hard enuff thru The Sun Archive you will find a story berating 'racist' Jim for not performing recently because the front row was full of wheelchair bound audience members. Apparently he doesn't like taking the piss out of the disabled... Which doesn't excuse his behaviour every Saturday for six years on 'Big Break'.

I'll be supporting Scotland who care if they don't win, it's a game for God's sake, there always has to be a loser. Then Wales because they're underestimated, Ireland, land of my parents and because they're putting up a good fight and finally New Zealand as they are potential winners. In saying that, my money is still on France to win.
