I walked past this event last year and the dress code seemed to be a cross between a gay twist to Hell's Angels biker leather and
lederhosen, and there were many who seemed to be having fun round the back of the tent... I'm not gay but it looked like an entertaining day out, certainly some good photo ops.

Any non gays that can sing the Kylie remix of "Er Gehört zu Mir" are welcome.
Anyone can walk in a Wies'n tent and get a non reserved seat at any time.
On Gay Sunday though you are unlikely to be able to get in the Bräurosl after 9 AM if you haven't already organised a package.

there were quite a few straight TTers who joined me there last year.
TBH, it is not an OFFICIAL gay event though the Bräurösl appear to be happy after 20 odd years for gay people to see it that way. Half the tent is actually reserved for people who have participated in the Trachtenumzug anyway on Gay Sunday and I would guess that most of them are straight.

If you had already organised a package could you not stay at home and enjoy it?

Sorry to correct you BTC but "Gay Sunday" IS an officially gay event.
The name is a registered trade mark of MLC eV and they have reserved one balcony.
The Munich Bears Club also has several boxes reserved and for both Vereine, it's a publicised event.
In the public, non reserved areas, the tent is open to ANYONE.
It is worth noting though that a couple of years ago the Bräurosl cancelled the reservations of the trachtler groups...
There's no organising going on here, just asking who is going to this event.
@ Yeti, that's the Wies'n effect though innit, whatever kind of package you have, five Mass later you want more.

The MLC event is official and publicisied. But hardly any gay people are MLC members. For most of us, gay sunday means the public areas and that is not official.

semantics, BTC. Careful now, you don't want me to become an anti-semanticist, do you?

But only most of them, don't forget the
Schwulplattler!

OOooOoOohhhhh, so tempting. I have an exam the next day though
Last year was AWESOME. I got in on my own. Some nice guy that worked for the tent saw me by my lonesome and escorted me in.
Might make a return bout this year but this event definitely gets my vote!

Ah yes OS, the old relying on the kindness of strangers approach - it worked better for me about a decade ago (or so)
