Some things come, some things go, but Oktoberfest music is eternal.
From DJ Ötzi and his "Hey Baby" to STS and their beloved "Fürstenfeld" plus Wolfgang Petri and his "Wahnsinn", there's something for everyone on the wrong end of several Maß to yell along to in some form or another.
But every year has a new Wiesn-Hit and it's rather traditional at this tome of year to have a guess at what it could be.
Previous Wiesn-Hits have included "Dragostea Din Tei", "Holzmichl", "Macarena", "54, 74, 90, 2006" or last year's "Ein Stern, der deinen Namen trägt" from DJ Ötzi?
Bayerischer Rundfunk is currently running an online vote to find out your potential Wiesn-Hit and it's pretty unaminous:
Donikkl's "So a schöner Tag (Der Flieger)"
I can actually see this taking off big style, all the lalallalalalalallaa bits, the jumping up and down and the bit where you can do hand actions are a must.
In comparison, the other options such as Kid Rock's "All Summer Long" (with the tune of old Oktoberfest favourite "Sweet Home Alabama") or the durrdurdurdurdurrrdurrr chords ("Seven Nation Army") seem a little er... passive?
It certainly did the business at the Gäubodenfest in Straubing, guess I'll see at the weekend if it has reached Rosenheim!
What's your Wiesn-Hit prediction?
