Hi all. First of all, I'd like to say how awesome I think this forum is.

I plan to move to Germany at some point in my life. I'm currently 19 and I hope to maybe move to Germany after I graduate from college. Maybe sooner?
Are there colleges in Germany where classes are taught in English? How easy is it to get a job? Does anyone have any suggestions of where to move to?
I'm still living at home with my family, so moving is still a new concept to me, especially moving to a new country. Does anyone have any advice, words of wisdom, etc. for me?

hey, I'm 17 and I've been living in Germany for like 11 years now. Why would you wanna move here in the first place, I can't wait to get back to the states.. biggrin.gif

I would suggest that you find a college in the US that has a study abroad program (preferably not just a summer deal) and try that out. It is a good safe and easy way to experiene living abroad. You have alot of support and you move back at the end. Once you have done that you can make a better decision if living overseas is right for you. Plus you get a better idea of what to bring and expect if you do make the move. I love living overseas, but it is a hassle (especially at first) that is not for everyone.

Best of luck.

dolfan is giving you good advice, however it is much cheaper to study here and with a study abroad program, as I and many of my friends have experienced, you usually end up hanging out with people from your program and do not emerge into the culture or learn the language properly.

There are English programs at the universities here, but I don't have any info on that wink.gif

care to elaborate as to why? I am very interested, as I am American with a young son, and a German husband who undoubtedly wants to keep us here... thanks. smile.gif

Too easy here. She is 17, one of parents must have mentioned that Germany was great recently, so now she hates it.
