Which restaurants do you know in Berlin that are not McDonald's type place; not activity centres with some oily chips and buns from yesterday ; but REAL restaurants that have playgrounds (and better - with indoors play corners, for the upcoming winter)?
The ones I know:
Due Forni (Schoenhauser Allee, Italian) - great food, so-so service, playground outside
Prater (Kastanienallee, German/Beer Garten) - playground (sandpit) outside
Cafe am Neuen See (Tiergarten, German/Beer Garten) - playground (sandpit) outside
An NZ restaurant in Friedrichshain - has a large area INDOORS and the only critique I can say is that the food is OK, but not great (not being a Kiwi myself I have no idea how "authentic" the food is - it seems like what the Germans usually categorise under British/Irish cuisine, only with exotic fruits)
Any other restaurants?

I don't know if this counts but
Britzer Garten has a restaurant called MilchBar that has a fabulous play area. The food is ok but my 2 1/2 year old was enthralled with the water play area there. It costs 2 Euros to get into the park and children under 5 are free.
It is a really beautiful park if you haven't seen it yet - lots of play areas and a train that rides around the park. (the train is also a little extra)

The bio chain
LPG Mehringdamm has a small playground in its indoor
Kreuzberg store (Mehringdamm)...the food is ideal for these cold days and very healthy...and children also learn to bring back Besteck und Teller to the counter!
a restaurant ideal in between daytime shopping-cycling-walking...not for the evening of course!

I went to KiiWii Familienrestaurant in
Schoeneberg a few weeks ago with my daughters. It has an indoor play room and restaurant. I found the restaurant to be very clean and the there were a lot of good food choices. My daughters age 3 and 5 were entertained and happy playing there for 3 hours. KiiWii Familienrestaurant Güntzelstr. 10, 10717

Caffe' Oro Nero in Akazienstrasse serves excellent coffees, tiramisu, brunch and its biggest room is reserved for families with children...

Also
Cafe Schoenhausen in Pankow on the Flora Strasse. It's right next door to the children's shop called Wunschkind. From what I can tell, the cafe is designed specifically for families with 'kindgerecht' treats and a room to play in. I haven't been yet (it's pretty new) but it looks quite sweet from the outside.

Giraffe - at UBahn Hansaplatz (U9) and SBahn Tiergarten. In the Corbusier inspired housing complex - so a bit utilitarian, - food is not bad, but nothing special, there is a small outdoor play area, and an indoor play area. staff are child friendly. Not a bad place to meet if it needs to be central.

Hi!
There is also the Fischerhutte. This is a great place for the family. It's about a hundred year old old so it has a lot of history. Also a great beer garden and sit down meal, if you'd like. It is right one the Schlachtensee. A lot of people go there for the day. You can have a swim in the lake,or just go for a meal. I go there for walks in the forest. My 3 year old daughter loves it because there are little play areas hidden in the forest as well.
The childrens play area is outdoors and can be seen from the tables so there is no stress. You can eat and keep an eye on the kids.
A relaxing place. I recommend the chicken in the beer garden area. Really good!! The rest of the food is ok but the chicken. Wow!
It can be found in Zehlendorf on Fischerhuttenstr. If you are coming by train, use the U3 and get off at Krumme Lanke. Head north-west and you will find it on your left. Parking isn't a problem if you are coming by car.
