Dog owners - Wanna meet up?

Do you own one and what kind?

I'm a dog lover with a chocolate labrador of my own and was wondering who out there of my fellow exPats in Munich might also have a dog currently. Might be fun at some point to hook up? Do you have a dog and what kind? Where do you usually walk it? I'm usually out by the Waldfriedhof Solln or the Isar as I'm in Obersendling.

I am the owner of the infamous Mini-pup. Hates men, loves women, afraid of anything larger than 2 kilos, as well as plastic bags that blow along the street.

Does not mix well with other pups, but I can never resist bringing him up. Potterstreet and latecomer have a lovely black lab though, who is much the mingler...
potterstreet
henry, the above mentioned black lab, and i can be found allover schwabing and the english garden on weekdays. henry is extremely playful particularly with those of his own breed. would be thrilled to meet you and your pup. send me a pm and we can hook up.

as an aside, i'm curious - where do you kennel your dog?

@bb, we have to socialize louie one step at a time. i thought he did quite well when you were here for dinner.
butterbean
true, he did. but that was only because Henry is so sweet and passive, and allowed Lou to bitch slap him a little... wink.gif

Mine's a 13 year old sable border collie. He's a wonderdog, friendly with other pooches but would rather catch his frisbee than play with them. Typical BC. I'm in the north end of Schwabing.

I've got a 2 year old Kleine Münsterländer (spaniel type pointer). She is very friendly but a bit insane when she wants to play with other dogs. Don't have her in Munich very often though unless I work at the weekend. I would be interested in meeting up now and then as 30 minutes running around with other dogs is as good as me jogging with her for an hour (lazy sod that I am).
potterstreet
think we should all get together and let the dogs play somewhere mutually convenient for all and then repair to a bar or gluhwein stand for a post playing drink.

Note to self: keep eye on this thread and "accidentally" run into said dog walkers for gratuitious dog petting and gluhwein. Must remember to bring shiny new purse for which to distract butterbean and potterstreet and/or pass off as own dog...may need to buy new, furry bag instead. Alternatively may "borrow" dog from grumpy old lady down the street. Hmmm...

I am a 12 year old golden retriever cross I have been here since September. Mum and Dad got me here by promising me a new and better life and as many Sausages as I could eat (not seen many of them so far) soon as we arrived Mum switched to speaking in a strange language, me and Dad are having to take lessons so we can understand hat she’s saying. So it would be nice to meet up with other English speaking dogs before i move on.
We are moving to Villach in Austria next Feb for a new and better life and as many sausages as I can eat

Hi,

My name is Rusty, I am a 4 year old Golden Retriever, my boss speaks English, My other boss speaks Russian, the small boss speaks German and Im just mad.

The big boss keeps trying to get me to say "Walls Sauages" but I wont do it just to piss him off. He thinks he can make money out of me, Im no Whore.

He keeps thowing sticks and tries to get me to run after them and bring them back , I think Lazy Fat B*****d go get it yourself if you want it.
I look deep in his eyes and he usually goes for it.

But Im up for a walk most weekends, usually along the Isar, or in the English Garden.

Oh what fun!

Ok... here's an idea... how's about meeting up for a dog romp and then afterwards some drinks and or food? I'm in Obersendling as I mentioned but Dharma (my lab) and I would be more than happy to meet up somewhere else such as the English Garden if that's more convenient for all.

I propose a meetup on a Sunday around 12pm? Who's interested? I propose Sunday Jan 9th 12pm at the English Garden - meet at the garden entrance of the Tierklinik Uni München?
I'll leave it to you all to select drinks/food options for afterwards.

Please post here if you are up for it?

All exPat/english speaking dog owners and/or dog lovers welcome!

For the record here is a photo of me and my pup from my wedding this past July:

Potterstreet... I don't usually kennel Dharma (my choco lab) because I have a couple of friends who will watch her but if I had to I would definately check this place out... it sounds amazing and I've heard good things about it:

henry and i will be there. sounds like a plan. let's chat the week prior to the 9th just to confirm.

by the way, you look gorgeous in your dress sabine, and your dog's not too bad either! biggrin.gif

Potterstreet... sounds great! I've set a reminder to myself to check in the week before to confirm. You can also PM or email me if you want. Dharma and I will be around through the holidays and feeling a bit homesick so would be up for a doggie romp anytime (we walk everyday out at Waldfriedhof Solln).

Wuff!
Sabine and Dharma

P.S. Thanks about the compliment.

Well, the editors have moved this post from it's original location to here so hopefully all interested who have already replied will still be able to find this.
