Hi folks,

I'm applying for a work permit for a new job in industry, beginning early '09. I am already in Germany, but working as a scientist at a govt institute (i.e. different visa than that req'd for industry). I read on the webpage for the German Consulate in Australia that a medical certificate is necessary to apply for a work permit, at least when doing so in Aus). Does anyone know if this is nceessary when applying for a new work permit within Germany? Seems a bit pointless as I've already been in the country for a year, so any infectious diseases I'm carrying are already spreading amongst the German populace...
