TTers sought to meet up at Oktoberfest

We're visiting from the US, 23-28.Sep.2008

Munichbeerboy
Hey, Oktoberfest travelers... Chatter is a bit low on this website. Somewhat dissapointing, considering the Weis'N begins in 36 days. Let's meet-up during the week, take photos for my website:

www.Havebeerwilltravel.com

We will be in Munchen 23.9.08 thru 28.9.08... This will be # 12 for me, and # 7 or 8 for several of my friends here in N. Florida, USA.. I will also be meeting-up with good friends from Vienna, New York City, London, Stuttgart, and even Iraq... We are setting-up a meet for 1200 hours at Der Schottenhamel on 23.9.08,,, and likely will move to the Hippodrom for Happy Hippo Hour at 1600 hrs. Also, I would like to hook-up with some TT folks at the Kaisergarten (34 Kaiser Strasse) one afternoon or evening that week. We also love hangin-out in the Augustiner, Lowenbrau, and Hacker Zelten. I will be posting many photos, and probably doing a podcast or two for the worldwide web, etc. E-mail me: Munichbeerboy@gmail.com

Prosit!

Attached is a photo of Chris and myself from 2007 at Hippodrom.

hello there. If any of us Münchners were to meet you, how would you purpose meeting up? Do you have reservations? And what kind of people are you meeting here? If we want to party with a table full of drunken tourists... well, frankly, we could walk into any tent to experience that...

Not to mention the slight problem of trying to get in/find seating with a large, unreserved group than with just a couple of folks. Not to rain on your Trachtenparade, but you know that already if you've been to OFest several times.

We have shots of several tents (Paulaner, Schottenhamel, Auggie, Hacker) from several angles on the digital cams. We setup meet with a few, not a real large group (perhaps 10) of people, then e-mail them the photos - with red arrows inserted ("Look Here)", etc. I am too old (42) to be a silly drunken tourist, and I do more drinking in the city centre than at the fest, but still enjoy a few hours in the afternoon at Weis'N... Also, I know Munchen like the back of my hand, and carry a local cell phone.. As far as Munchen & Stuttgart go, I am not a tourist. USed to live there... And,, I NEVER go on the weekend.

You are not a tourist you are The President, respect

Schottenhamel (in the rear, near bandstand) is easy to find us, if you're actually interested. If you're scared, and cannot hang with the BIG DOGS on the front porch, stay home & read Cat Fancy... If you want to have a Mas or five, send me you e-mail, and I will send you the photos which make it really easy to find us. Perhaps not super easy for Pollacks or Italians, but us Americans & Germans are pretty sharp at times.. LOL

If I am not in Der Schottenhamel, we hang-out at the outdoor bar @ Weinzelt in the evenings.

PROSIT!

Just out of curiosity (anyone), have the problems with cell tower overload because of too many callers at the Wies'n been more or less resolved by now?
Bigfoot
OK, Munichbeerboy, I will meet you there! Just watch out for a tall Dutch guy with a Mass in his hands... can't miss it!
Munichbeerboy
Bigfoot, great.. Bring some Dutch Gals, tall or short... A beer on me!

I can vouch for Munichbeerboy... although he still lives Stateside... he is ok. I've been living in Vienna for the past 8 years but always manage to meet up with him in Munich for a few days during the mid-week at Oktoberfest.
Munichbeerboy
Hey, the weather is nicer here in North Florida, of course. However, I like the people and the beer better in Bavaria. Sometimes ya just get thirsty, and crave a "real" lager,,, so I fly to Munchen ! ! !
