Light Switch Covers

Where to buy them?

I'm looking for a light switch cover, but it's a bit different than most light switches I've seen here. The switch itself is about 1 inch by 1 inch (2.5cm x 2.5 cm) and the plastic cover is about 3 inch by 3 inch (7.6cm x 7.6cm). Anyone know where I can buy one of these? I got a little 'punchy' (horrible pun) after a night of drinking, and seem to have hit the switch a little too hard ph34r.gif I tried Suckfuell or whatever its called, and it is indeed suck full, no luck on this light switch cover. I don't need the whole switch, just the cover. Thanks for any help!

P.S. Anyone know what a light switch cover is called in German?

Often Easier to buy the whole switch and cover in one Blister pack from OBI. . etc

agree with Grinner. Take the thing off the wall and take it to Obi Toom Praktiker whatever to make sure you get the right size replacement.
Johnny_who?
try "Lichtschalterdeckel" but what the heck is suckfull?

Thanks for the quick responses! Where is this OBI place?

Suckfuell is a store across the street from me that sells a lot of around the house stuff... maybe it's only one store

Suckfüll is indeed unique to Maxvorstadt. Across from Sausalitos, next door to Cafe Puck, on Türkenstr. Good for all those little bits and bobs you need around the house. Not as cheap as Obi or other similar places, but far easier to reach for those of us in the neighbourhood.

There are several Obi markets around town. Some:

Westendstr. 221
Lerchenauer Str. 134
Meglinger Str. 31

Type the addresses into www.hot-maps.de to find out where they are exactly.

Thanks showem, I'll check it out!

Depending on where you are, if you don't want to go as far as OBI, there is quite a big electrical shop on the corner of Theresienstr and Augustenstr, I am sure they sell just the covers. They have them in the window. (all different colours too!!)
If you get the U2 to Theresienstr, just as you come out of the U-Bahn station, you will see the shop. You can't miss it.

Well, I went to OBI and all they had were the big light switches and covers. Are these some special Studentenwerk light switches?! Did the whole city of Munich change light switch standards except my building?! I miss home where punching the light switch would lead to a severe indentation in your hand! None of this flat switch nonsense.

Only chi chi men hit light switches though.

Might i suggest sticking with the soft-to-your-fist flat variety and just stick drawing pins all over it.

Drawing pins (i'm sure) are also available at OBI.
