Bairer Waldfest - Munich

On Sunday 10 Aug 2008, the traditional outdoor festival "Bairer Waldfest" takes place at at Steinberg near Netterndorf (South-East of Munich).

This is one of the most beautiful events I know in the area with Bavarian music, dresses and dancing. The Waldfest starts at 3 pm and goes on until late night. In case of bad weather, the festival will take place on 15 August.

In addition to the traditional Bavarian music, dancing, food and drinks, there will be coffee and cake, games for the children, a natural bowling alley, a shooting stand (Schiessstand), a raffle, wine, later the evening cocktails at the romantic Felsenbar (rock-bar?).

Actually, the festival goes throughout the whole weekend with an outdoorparty Friday night (organised by the young mens association (Burschenverein), Saturday is childrens party (organised by the Trachtenverein) , and Sunday the traditional Waldfest.

Myself, I've only been to the Waldfest, so I can't say anything about the other events.
