Recommended theme parks near Berlin

Any theme parks near berlin? Or rather I would like to know of any that can be reached by public transport from Berlin?

I think the nearest bigger one is next to Leipzig.

The nearest I can think of is Themepark Babelsburg , might be worth a look...

What about Tropical Island

In south Brandenburg near Cotbus, take the RE2 from Alex to Brand, approx 50 minutes. There is a free shuttle bus from Brand train station.

Has anyone ever been to film park babelsberg? It looks pretty cool.

I went to Babelsberg a couple of years ago with my mother (she does not speak any German). You can not compare it with Universal Studios or something like that but it is still fun. When I was there their main attraction was a life show very MadMax-esque. BTW. you have to plan your day in a way that you do not miss the life shows.

My wife went to Tropical Island and she did not like it so much. Why you want to go there during summer anyway? Just go to any of the fake beaches in Berlin or to any lake.

So I take it that tropical island is indoors??? Fake beaches? Hmmm, can you name the good ones. We are looking to go for a nice swim and something in berlin thats a bit more than just a pool would be nice.
