Hello. I have a flight out of Schonfeld on Friday and would like to take public transit. Is this feasible? I live in Kreuzberg, just over the Landwehrkanal, on Kotbusser Damm (next to U8 and U1 bahn lines).
Thanks for your help and advice.

You can find door-to-door Berlin transport details @ www.bvg.de. And because its my 'Good Samaritan' evening, you can take either (U1 or U8) to Warschauerstrasse or Jannowitzbrücke and transfer to S9 to Schönefeld for the most direct route. Other routes with more transfers exist.

Best way I've found is to get to Hermannplatz (U8 & U9) and just take the shuttle bus to Schonfeld.

The fastest way is to get the Airport Express train - stops at all the main train stations in the city (Zoo, Hautbahnhof, AlexanderPlatz etc. It goes every 30 minutes and costa the same as the SBahn (now ABC zone required). The trip from the city centre is about 30 minutes, as opposed to 45 minutes or so via SBahn - note also that it is not unusual for one of the SBahns to not turn up, whereas I find the trains are very reliable - you can check the departure times via the DeutscheBahn web site http://www.db.de

If you live at Kotbusser Tor then I would U-bahn it as much as you can. U8 to Hermann platz, then the U7 to Rudow, then hop on the X7 bus to the Airport.
Is the S9 running ok again?

the advantage of bus is that it takes you right to the airport entrance, the S-Bahn or 'Airport Express' trains mean steps down from the platform, a walk along and up a slope, and maybe if there's no shuttle bus another walk in the open (is covered). So if you've much luggage.... Have a good trip!

That's the way I'd go, no long walk from the s-bahn station
