Ok need somehelp here - I want to transfer some funds to a friends Abbey Zero Credi Card account - I asked for the IBAN number and she contacted the Bank who told her just the sorting code and Account number would be sufficient in addition to the credit card number but as far as i know IBAN numbers start with either DE14 ... or GB24 ABBY etc ...

What am I supposed to use - anybody here who has made a transfer to an Abby Zero account yet ???

You definately need the IBAN and BIC if transferring funds from Germany. It is usually printed on the top of your bank statements.

The difference here could be that we are talking about a credit card. These have an entirely different numbering convention from a bank account.

When I pay with my UK debit card in Germany, the amount is set against my card right away using just the card number info. No need to give an IBAN etc. So presumably you credit to accounts in the same way.
