Buying rail tickets to Prague online

Jizdnirady.cz won't let me buy, is this correct?

Hello everybody.

I know there are countless threads on Munich - Prague by train, plane, car etc...

I'm planning on going 9th August and coming back on 12th August.

I have found this website http://jizdnirady.idnes.cz/vlakyautobusy/spojeni/

Dep 9th 08.44, Get To Prague 14.37 (no changes)

Coming back

Dep 12th 13.24, Get to Munich 19.19 (1 change at Schwandorf)

However - How do you buy tickets using that website? I could have just overlooked where to buy them, but I couldn't see?

Any ideas?

Did you click for the English version?...
thiggy
Yeah I did.

It looks like you can't buy a ticket from this site,. Its only connection info.
If you click on the little yellow square with a seat on it, you can however buy a seat reservation (Bus trips only),
not an actual journey ticket. Even then it forwards you to another website (Ambus) to buy the reservation.

I'd suggest just buying your ticket from the DB website or in person at the ticket counter at Hbf
or directly with the bus companies website if your want to go via bus.

Buy the Prag Spezial at the DB Reisezentrum for €60'ish, it's easier than faffing around with weekend tickets, Bayern tickets etc.

Guys you'll have to explain in more 'simple' terms as I have just recently moved to Munich. Don't understand ticket types and abbreviations just yet.

I don't think it's possible to be simpler than that

I suspect it's the DB causing him problems.

Deutsche Bahn

To be honest, Thiggy, I strongly suggest you go to the train station and book your ticket there. You can speak to them in English and tell them exactly what you are looking for.

I didn't understand DB Reize...

And they didn't say if it was 60 euros one way or 60 euros return...
MonksTown
DB Reisezentrum is the travel centre in the Main Station (Hauptbahnhof).
If you want the convenience of one ticket and nothing to think about, the Prag Spezial for € 60 return is the easyiest.

It is possible to buy tickets through Jizdny Rad etc but no point in doing so.
thiggy
Many thanks for explaining that.

Seemingly there is a bus service that runs through the night?

http://www.studentagencybus.com/en/413_444...RAGUE-COACH-BUS

Has anybody used this? It seems perfect for me, travel through the night (so can sleep) then have a full day in PRague (As opposed to travelling during the day)

And its very cheap.

The bus is cheap and now there is no formal border controls you can try and sleep.
BUT. Do not imagine you will arrive as fresh as a daisy.
Half the fun of the train is the experience.

Edit:
Errrrm, the regular fare is just €9 return cheaper than the train "deal" which isn't the cheapest combo anyway.
It's five and a half hours total journey time so yeah, a real chance to sleep. Not.
And it leaves from Frötmanning.

Stick with the choo-choo innit.
