A decade summarized

My last ten years (I will include the half year of that which precedes my move to Munich):

Long-term boyfriend and failed engagement all in one: 1
Less meaningful encounters: More than 1

Marriages of sisters: 3 (the fourth is still too young)
Deaths of Grandfather: 1
Illnesses and operations of mother: 4

22 years out, countries too many to care , 1 million beers? , a few ONS , limited GF's, arrested once(my business), many flats, many friends, much damage to body, a thousand Sundays waking up in bits, home alone maybe 10,500 times+counting,thousands earned IT contracting, 1000's blown on the gargle.

Everyday I pray for normality.

life shaping 10yrs for me. finish school, 1 masters degree, 5 cities, 4 countries, 1 arrest, 1 heartbreak currently turning into 2nd period of "darkland", 1 tattoo, 6 jobs, occasional smoker to near on chain smoker, serial pisshead, went from quiet boy to "player" reputation (unjustified...), 0 marriages, 1 never-thought-id-get-out-alive experience, 1 car, fling with a yank, canuck and a kraut, fulfilled the dream of competing at henley, found the country i want to live in (3 guesses) but not shaping up that way, drink fuelled concussion/knock out, fractured hand, skinny dipped in the thames twice at midnight on consecutive years.

totally shitting it about the next 10yrs which will be affected by a decision i have 10days in which to make :S

Is anybody where they expected to be?

10 years ago if somebody said I'd be living in Germany , have an American girlfriend, German ex and two beautiful children I'd have laughed at them.

15 years - Renovated 2 houses, created 3 kids, built an empire, survived a fire and a divorce, lost 431 games of chess and worn out 3 stereos.

Where - yes
How - Dunno, 10 years ago I was single but not adrift, about the same as now. Biggest changes are that both O'Reilly's and Günther Murphys have closed down and the toilets at Shamrock have been renovated.

I think life just gets better everyday.

I prefer to review the last ten years of my life living in Germany in terms of quality and not quantity.

I've had my fair share of trials and tribulations and even heartache and pain.

But mostly the last ten years I've been doing this: living it up, laughing it up, and loving it up.

A bachelor's degree, 5 moves, a new niece, 2 sisters-in-law, 1 brother in law, a few deaths, a crazy feline who sheds so much you could make a spare cat from him, a national championship title, 15 countries, 2 cars, a lot of laughter, a few tears, and some of the best friends a girl could ask for. Oh...and guns.

Sorry, I'm all out of quick n' fun stats for today . And as you can see out of good song lyrics as well.

But honestly, that's all I've been doing the last ten years.

Regrets = 0 . . . . . There are some things money can't buy; for everything else, there's MasterCard (unless they won't give you a f*cking line of credit).

10 years: 4 countries, 8 cities, 8 years of school, 6 years smoke-free, 2 cats, 1 husband, 1 child, 3 cars, 3 bikes, and a metric buttload of baby toys.

For years I kept saying "Jesus Wet". It was only after watching the movie "Michael Collins" with subtitles on did I realise my mistake.

Last 10 years: 1 country, 3 jobs, 3 careers, 2 LTR, 2 exes *sniff sniff*, 8 addresses, 5 cities, 2 foreign languages, 3 computers, 1 Mac, 2 mobile telephones, gained 10 kgs, lost 8 kgs, 2 long-haul flights (>10 hours), approx. 7 countries visited, 1 diving certificate, 1 snowboard, 1 surgery, 0 kids, 0 abortions, 0 miscarriages, 20 curries, 1 nephew, 1 sister-in-law, 110 friends on Facebook, 6 years Toytown

and the beat goes on

Last 10 years: 2 countries (only last 2 months in Germany), 1 degree, 2 jobs, 3 cities lived in, 11 countries visited, 1 wife (so far), 2 kids, 3 dogs, 1 hermit crab, and lots of work.

Never really had a plan but everything seems to be working out ok so far...

10 years, 4 countries, 2 degrees, 4 jobs, 7 flats, 1 serious relationship, 2 heartbreaks, 0 wedding, 0 engagement, 0 kid, 1 schrink.

Last 10 years: 2 countries, 2 Jobs, 1 husband, 1 unexpected career, 2 babies, 7 flights to Sydney, 7 flights to Frankfurt, 4 cars, 5 Macs, and so much more I can't think of right now...

My last ten years, uh let's see, dunno. Can't remember beyond last Wednesday.
