I am going to a wedding in England in a few weeks' time and would like to buy a fascinator (feather headpiece, for anyone who hasn't got a clue what I'm talking about ;-))
Does anyone know of any hat shops in Berlin that might sell these? I can't think of anywhere!
Thanks!!

Not a hat shop per se, but I'd have thought KaDeWe would sell them?
(Sorry, I realise that wasn't hugely helpful; hope someone else can come up with something better!)

If you don't mind going retro, there is a lady at the Tiergarten Fleamarket who just does hats, and she has some brilliant period pieces. She's always beside the lady with the retro undies, not on the 'main aisles' but on a perpandicular side piece with other clothing people.
She doesn't speak much English, but she's a real sweetie.

I would have thought KaDeWe too. If they do not have them they should be able to direct you somewhere.
A bit of googling brought this up:
fionabennettGroße Hamburgerstr.25 / 10115 Berlin, Germany
Tel: +49 3028096330
Fax: +49 3028096330
Not sure if it what you are looking for but it sure is a start. The site says she was born in Brighton so she should be able to help you.
Some of the hate in the website look cool in a funky sense.

Hi,
Can't remember exact addresses, but there is a little atelier-type shop (ie expensive) for that exact sort of thing on Zimmerstrasse near Checkpoint Charlie, round the corner from Cafe Adler, and also a hat shop on Bergmannstrasse between Nostitz and Mehringdamm that might have some. Otherwise you might have more luck at Galeries Lafayettes than in KaDeWe, otherwise browse the Zitty Shopping Guide (big newsagents with the listings mags/maps)
Beats shopping for bread and milk and carrots!

Hi,
Just wanted to report back on how I got on with my fascinator hunt. I decided to head to Galeries Lafayette and found a suitable "headpiece" (a sort of large rose made from a type of gauze in a turquoise colour fixed onto a headband) which cost me 30 €. It's not exactly what I was envisaging (i.e. something white and with feathers), but it will do nicely and matches my dress, at least!
So thanks for the tips and advice - I wasn't really looking for an exquisite handmade one-of-a-kind hat and neither did I really feel like traipsing round the whole of Berlin to find it, so I'm pleased that I managed to get something in the first place I went to!!
