Mexican food shops in Dresden

Latin American supermarkets

chavee
I finally found a great little place that sells some stuff here in Dresden. It's called El Mercadito and it's the only place I can find chorizo here...which is great cuz I can't live without breakfest tacos. Forget about those store bought tortillas too. Here's a great vid that goes over the recipe. It takes time and patience but is well worth the effort.

I am from Austin Texas, and will be getting a huge shipment of Mexican condiments early next month. I am going to give it a shot to sell Tacos, Tostadas, and Pork Pibil (Yucatan Recipe) some how in Altstadt Center. El Mercadito is about the only place you can find latin food products, but there are just some things you can't buy there If anyone has any good German marketing ideas for me, please let me know! Thanks~

i found a web site a few months ago called mex-al.de
there you can order a lot of things i like to use it fo rthe poblano chilis.
they have a large selection of chili powders and dried chilies too. canned habanaros for the lovers of heat.

they also sell frozen tortilias but they dont ship them you have to take them and they are on the other side of germany. you could use a similar model. a small "cafe" with a shop selling "mexican" food.

Just wanted to make people aware that there is a MEX-AL "store" near Halle ( in Merseburg):

Google maps here

It can be reached from Halle by taking Tram No. 5 that goes to Merseburg. It more than 1 hour IIRC. The place is a bit hidden. It is not a retail shop but more of a warehouse. However, in Fridays they open to the general public and you can buy small units of the stuff they sell.

For those of you wanting something *really* spicy I dare you to try the "CHILES PIQUIN, gemahlen" (powder chili) or the "CHILES ARBOL". We got a bag of the first one and it is really spicy (even my wife who loves spicy food gets enough with that ha!).

Thanks for the tip! I've been missing Mexican like crazy.

We also spotted a Cuban type restaurant/bar in the Neustadt, I think on Alaunstrasse. Is it any good? Prices look pretty sweet.

I have heard that el cubinito is good i did eat there once did not fine it special but i was in a bad mood that day. I normally go to matinez on rudolf leonard strase they make a nice kind of cuban gulasch with black beans and rice for about 5 euros i think it is one of the best deals in Dresden not really bug but quite taste and only a 5er.
