Hi All,
I'm a Stuttgart Newbie, adjusting to life with "y" and "z" keys in the wrong place.
If anyone fancies a few beers and a natter please get back to me.
Richard

aloha people!
proposal: How about having a bbq evening tomorrow??? we can bring some meat, get a(or more) six-pack(there is also a beer garten closeby), get a frisbee or badminton.. and relax under the sun?

The grill section at Schloßgarten is Untere schloßgarten

holler me if yer down ! Cheers
PilotChris
I am in! How about a 6:30 or 7pm start? I might be closer to 7pm with my late-start-to-the-day ways. If somebody would bring (or knows where I could acquire) a Frisbee, we'd be nearing perfection!
PilotChris
Just FYI for anybody who's on Facebook: I created an event for our "Stuttgart Expat Meetups" group. If you haven't joined already, consider doing so -- it's an enabler for laziness because the event invites come to you. smile.gif

You can find the group here!
cherrymuffin
I think they should have Frisbees in any of the bigger sports shops on Königstraße. However as it looks there might be a slight weather-change soon smile.gif Are there any alternative plans? Just in case smile.gif
kickstartkk
i just checked the weather report and the report is just as fickle as the weather itself.. General consensus is that it might rain/cloudy during the day and cloudy in the evenings.. so i guess 80% we might have no interference. Eitherways if rain does arrive, we can check out palast!?! but lets keep that as a backup! wink.gif
Codex
Count me in! Albeit late!
kickstartkk
OK! Time is more or less fixed: 7 PM @ Untereschloßgarten Grill station!
PM me or PilotChris for further details. cheeeeers
kickstartkk
Goddamn Rain gods wink.gif... i guess it is not the best of ideas to have a bbq tonight with all the wet grass and stoves..
so BBQ today is CANCELLED.. sorry about that!
lets reschedule it for tomorrow.. the weather looks mighty better..,... and meet at biddys tonight around 7:30..
me, chris and few friends are gonna be thr.. so if anybody wants to join, look for us in BIDDYS!!
Codex
For tomorrow, I'd say let's regroup our efforts and combine into the meetup in this thread for the 4th of July. That way, we're almost guaranteed people and meat won't go bad either wink.gif The Lake is easily accessible via Ubahn.
PilotChris
Somehow, it's already time to start planning for this Thursday's meetup. Where'd the week go? It seems that we have some options in front of us:

1. BBQ (try #2 - damn the rain!)
2. The usual biergarten/biddy's
3. Hamburger Fischmarkt - starts on Thursday at Karlsplatz in Stuttgart. We could go get our fest on.

Anybody? What sounds good?
kickstartkk
i vote for bbq! here is the weather report.. 28°C NO Rain...
i can also rope in few more people this time! smile.gif
gatzke
I vote for BBQ as well. We have kids that crash earlyish, so if we make it early we will try to hold a grill.

We found a couple of Frisbees around. One is a cheapy plastic, the other is actually a flexible dog frisbee...

We had seven at the July 4th lunch last Friday. Was a beautiful day for cooking burgers and drinking beer!
cableguy1
BBQ sounds good! Can bring the rest of my baked beans from Friday!!
adrianlondon
Fish market! Fish market!
amy_bg
Im going to be working from time to time at the smelly fish market but thankfully not handling fish all day biggrin.gif I will be on the wine stall instead. Just how I like it. Come on by and drink some Weiss Wein schorles! or beer...
adrianlondon
Even better. Free wine! Free wine!
PilotChris
Ok, how's this: Let's re-create the BBQ magic from last week at 7pm in the Untere Schlossgarten. Once done with the food, beer, and Frisbee, those with energy left (I hope to be in this group) can head off to enjoy the evening at the Fischmarkt -- maybe around 9:30 or 10pm?

We had a ton of RSVPs last week only to be rained out - let's see if we can top that this week!

For those of you just joining us, the Facebook event invites go out to this group. If you're on Facebook, join on up! If not, watch out here for the plan!

Sounds good. I hate to let baked beans go to waste... The weather for Th afternoon looks good again.

Is this the correct place? Link We have only been to the Biergarten and the nearby lake. We have to push a stroller, so what is the closest U? If we make it, we will be there early (5 or 5:30).
PilotChris
Neckartor is the closest U-Bahn. Exit the station into the Schlossgarten (you'll pop out near the lake), and turn right. Take the pedestrian bridge across the street (Canstatter Str?), which is the beginning of the Untere Schlossgarten. Stay on the rightmost path and keep walking perhaps another 10 minutes. The grilling area is just past the playground.

The event's "official" time is 7pm, but I'll try to be there a little early and take some conference calls from the park, beer in hand. wink.gif

Everybody, feel free to use my cell phone as the 'official' contact point if you're lost or are running late. The number's on the Facebook invite, or otherwise PM me here.

Anything planned for the moro?

See the above info cool.gif
Opossum
Well thanks for your help dude, really, it's great, no really, seriously, the world really is better off with people like you. I meant anything other than playing "ultimate frisbee"/anything else that is going to bore me to sleep? Anyone up for Tiddlywinks?!!

People, what HAS happened to TT's?
cableguy1
Sorry, thought you had not followed the thread! Unfortunately my mind reading skills are not what they used to be and my extensive knowledge of allhappenings in the stuttgart universe is limited. By the way you missed off the n on your original post unless you meant morrow.
adrianlondon
Why post in a thread, for an event you're not interested in, and which says exactly what's happening tomorrow, asking "what's happening tomorrow?". What HAS happened to TT posters?
