The other topic (Indoor climbing partners sought) seems to be quite old, so I'm starting a new one. Would anyone be interested in coming along to some indoor climbing hall? I'm in Kreuzberg, and none of the available places seem to be near, but I have a bike so I'm flexible. A few years ago I was quite a committed climber -- I'm quite out of shape by now, though

Are there any good outdoor areas nearby? I left most of my gear at home, but it might be worth dragging it over on my next round-trip.
Tracktionmonkey
Yes.
I'm interested.
Or what about outdoor?
I only have limited experience though.

Great. Have you been to any of the places yet? I have no idea how they are. There's a list at this page -- Der Kegel looks promising. (Can any other members recommend anything?)

I still have to get a new pair of shoes, but I'll try to see to that today. Let me know which day/time would be convenient for you.

i know it's not indoors but there's always cassiopeia that has a climbing wall.

Magic Mountain

The generally recommended places seem to be Magic Mountain and T-Hall. I'm kind of intrigued by Cassiopeia/Der Kegel as well, since it is nearby and cheap and outside, but possibly you need your own rope to climb there -- I'll go bouldering there tomorrow afternoon to check it. Let me know if you want to tag along.

the posts here are a tad old, but if anyone is looking for a climbing partner, i would be interested in checking out Magic mountain. My name is Matt and i'm from the washington dc area originally. according to the german climbing scale, i climb about a 7.

I am in for any sort of climbing. I just moved to Berlin and climb around 7 as well. I have some gear with me, including a 30 m rope.
Cheers,

I'm in for any climbing, if you're willing to put up with a relative beginner. I've been climbing for about a month, at 4c/5a (UK indoors grades, think that's an EU 5 or a USA 5.9). Really want to carry on climbing, if anyone's up for a session at one of the walls.
Thanks

Hey all,
I found a wall that is outdoors and free. It is a concrete structure with bolted anchors just North of Mauer Park. I need a partner though.

I have a rope, draws, grigri, 2 harnesses so even if you don't have any gear you can join me. The only catch is you would need to know how to lead-belay because there are no topropes.

Anyone interested give me a call 015777731266

Hi, I just moved to Berlin from Sheffield and am missing gritstone! I have been trad climbing on and off for about a year, seconding about HS and I was just learning to lead. If people are still looking for climbing partners let me know, I havn't done a lot indoors but am maybe 4c/5a or so, but definately keen to push my grade!

Cheers,

Hi Fliss,

I believe there is a climbing place at S&U Gesundbrunnen, just across the road from the station...

Found this thread a few pages back. I'm a beginner, but an enthusiastic one.

Anyone interested in meeting up for a little climbing, PM me if you're interested.
