Well for that price Emirates makes you typically spend a night or part of a night at the Dubai airport.
I rather spend a few hundred bucks more and go non-stop.

That never appealed to me

Depends on your destination in India. Normally the transit time in Dubai is 2-3 hours.

I know people who have used this deal more effectively. Earlier it used to be even better. If u take a flight from Germany to Chennai (India) on Friday (Not sure whether it was thursday or friday) then the connection flight from Dubai to India had a 20 hour stop over. U get 5star accommodation and in the 20 hours friends of mine took a taxi around Dubai. For 4 of them they ended spending about 60€ totally for the taxi and ended up having a good time around in the city. So, that was a cheapest and yet very good option to go around Dubai.

Secondly, I have flown Emirates and its one of the best airlines that i have used. Personal entertainment system, good food and great service. And more important, for us students Emirates offers 35-40 kgs baggage allowance.

(P.S.) 5 of my friends have already booked tickets to India for this December. @ 491€, no 30 day limitation, 35-40kgs baggage allowance, its a steal.

I would imagine that you can also fly to more destinations in India via Dubai than you can directly from Germany, so chances are you have to change somewhere, so why not do in Dubai and break up the journey?

Very true OG. I prefer a 2-3 hour transit in Dubai over a 8-10 hour wait at Delhi/Mumbai. And the deal is great. Last year I paid almost double.

Wow - someplace I've always wanted to visit. Great airline fares. ... hm. Thanks for the tip.
