Argh!!
My computer has just gone loopy.
Every time I type the letter "h" the cursor jumps from the window in the browser to the address bar and vice versa.
I've searched net and run AVG scan and can't find anything about a virus that does it
Help please, you've no idea how hard it was to type this!
Thanks Oliver

Is it possible that your Ctrl key is jammed? Does the same thing happen if you type in Word or Notepad or somesuch?

wouldn't ctr+h take you to the browser history and also play up when hitting c,v, s and a bunch of other letters?

So, if you cannot use the "h" key then how did you type this message?
Just wondering, like.

OG, just getting rid of any obvious possibilities first. Sure, in IE it opens the history but I don't know about other browsers.

Well perhaps once the poster comes back we can establish which browser?...does the problem occur in other applications?...etc. No doubt the answer will be forthcoming once suitable information is provided.

Could it be some "Sticky Key" function thingy?

Firefox and IE. I don't have any other browsers to try
As far as I can see there is no hot key that tabs between the address bar and browser forms.
No, h doesn't seem to have strange effects in any other applications.
It's a laptop and I don't have a spare keyboard to check out whether helps

Hi,
I'm still stuck on this.
I've tried a plug in USB keyboard on my laptop and the H key works fine.
The two keyboards interact so if I hold shift on the laptop then I get capital letter when typing on the second keyboard.
I've looked at all hot keys in IE and Firefox and I can't actually find a Keyboard shortcut that toggles between the address bar and the main browser window.
Absolutely lost on this

Ideas?

You've probably spilt coke or something on the keyboard so its buggered it up.

You're right, it's functioning the same as F6!
There was a nasty whisky and apple juice incident at the weekend but the underside got damp not the keyboard so I'm not convinced that's related.
Hmm.. it's beginning to look electrical isn't it, some relationship between the wires that connect H and F6 to the insides...arse!

wise advise!
now the "i" does it instead of the "h" and the touch pad isn't as sprightly as it should be.
I'm going to take it apart and reseat stuff.

my old dell mouse/trackpad freaked out and it was the power adapter going bad. see if it still does it when on battery power?
