I know, silly question, but I need an answer smile.gif

Is it a bad idea or does it make no difference to wear your contacts if you are spending the day at the sauna?

In those circumstances, I think I'd prefer to have blurred vision.

I wear mine in the steam rooms and saunas in the US. I think the extra steam / sweat helps with wetting my eyes. My only problem is I often like to close my eyes while in there and sometimes that rubs my eyes... I wear soft 3 month lenses, but I doubt that makes a difference either.

Bring your little container and glasses just in case, but I have never had problems. Then again I don't have problems in smoky pubs either, and many do. Aircon on the other hand is (for me) not compatible with lenses. So my not very helpful answer is: You won't know until you tried.

I used to wear mine all the time, but then I had extended wear that you could sleep in them.

I've has no problems at all, especially steam saunas.

Dry or steam saunas, I've never had a problem with my contacts although there have been occasions when I wished things were a bit blurred.

It depends on whether you gonna have a feast/beast for your eyes. blink.gif

Sometimes my eyes feel dry afterwards, but I usually prefer dry eyes to blind eyes. If you're an eye-rubber, it might not be a good idea, though.

You shouldn't scrape under the other peoples toe nails with your lenses even if they ask.

Hahaha. Actually it's essential to wear contact lenses in a sauna, so you won't miss any hunks. tongue.gif

I wear daily disposables and have worn them in the sauna and the steam room quite a lot. Steam room is no problem at all but my eyes get a bit dry and scratchy after too long in the sauna - a very minor discomfort really but I probably wouldn't wear them if I was going to the sauna during the day and had to wear the lenses for hours afterwards. I mostly go at my gym in the evening when it's straight home and lenses out afterwards. But I don't wear lenses more than a couple of times a week so my eyes may not be so used to them.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I think I will wear them anyway and take my glasses along just in case.
