No idea why a crisp sandwich works so well but surely one of the greats.
What's the best though?
Personally I'm split between Quavers and Crispy Bacon Wheat Crunchies.
Any other contenders?

Bacon Wheat Crunchies are without doubt, the best.
With Walkers Chicken flavour in second place!

I like Smoky Bacon or Roast Chicken but any flavour is good excepted just plain salted.

Salt and Vinegar Walkers - hands down.
Even better with a Chedder 'garnish' included and a Penguin for afters.

+1 on the salt and vinegar. Anything else is just plain cruelty to tastebuds.

mmmmmm really processed but soft white bread...cheap margarine a bit too thick..cheddar cheese, again erring in the slightly too thick side. salt and vinegar crisps ( walkers).
lightly crush in between the slices, open, add further crisps, close delicately and munch
Butter. But some may disagree...

Walkers Smokey Bacon.
Salt and Vinegar Squares or Pickled Onion Monster Munch.
Bluedave- there is a subway now at Ostbahnhof and one on the corner of Grillparzerstr and Einsteinstr... there is also one in Reim Arcade.

Yep, went to Ostbahnhof but fell under the spell of a durum instead.
Was that with quavers or wheat crunchies?

Walkers Chicken flavour hands down , and when crips are scarce a nice HP brown sauce will suffice
( and Marg is a must ! )

Crisp sandwich? Didn't know there was such a thing. (Am I showing my age here or what?) Is that the first step on the slippery slope to fried Mars bar addiction?
Now, chip butties on the other hand ... MMMMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmmm
(an' ah'm tawkin' abaht wot us oop north calls chips, not ze German chips)
Oh definitely tandragee castle tayto cheese and onion crisps (good old n. ireland version of tayto crips) within thick slices of proper white slice pan smeared with proper salty butter. Ah the memories of a good ol crisp buttie!!

It has to be a egg salad (no salad inside of course ...just mushed hard boiled egg with salad cream) on thick buttered white sliced bread with Walkers salt and vinegar on the side AND inside...
Whoops if I were the proverbial man I may have to change my undies now!!! Yummee

"Bag of Quavers"? Is THAT what you call it on your island?

I had no idea! Didn't turn up in my handy-dandy urban dictionary.

I've had walkers.. They suck
If your still wanting good chips (Even have Salt/Vinegar) go for Kettle Chips. They can be found at most EDEKA's and Karlstadts, like the one in Hbf.

salt and Viniger walkers or smokey bacon walkers
i used to love beef and onion, but they changed it to stake and onion and they taste awful!!!
DK, The point is that have to be in a butty.
That kettle chips are better then walkers is pretty clear. With butter in a good pair of white slices. Different game.

Dark Knight you will incense all the English foodies with that comment. Kettle crisps are dry and hard and are NOT Britain's number one crisp and NEVER will be!!! (SO stick that in your American Pecan Pie Icecream and smoke it...

Sorry, But I like "Crunch" and taste, Kettle chips beat Walkers in that regard. This is my opinion. Others are entitled to their own.
But have you tried a crisp sandwich? Never seems to have crossed the cultural divide.
I wonder why walkers have never some up with the idea of a crisp butty fast food joint. Surely at least as good as McDonalds?

I would also advocate the use of butter in such circumstances - but I wouldn't kick a sarnie made with marge out of bed for making crumbs

Tab clear was thrown into a deep pit and buried for being utterly shit. Hopefully they'll do the same thing to the word "lol".

Smiths crinkle cut. Extra thickness makes for extra crunky. Chicken flavour, or cheese and onion, with a dlob of tomato sauce...
